CH Robinson going down for fraud?

Reading the article, it's my understanding they were picking up produce from the farmers and quoting one price and then stating a different price to the purchasers at the grocery stores.

Playing that game of the produce became unusable between the field and the store

They were overstating the freight charges to the grocery stores, who paid it. That had the effect of diminishing the price paid for the product. CHR then kept the difference.

CH got it’s start as a produce broker not a freight broker. They are still the largest produce broker.
