Cardiac changes coming….

Went in for my annual “turn and cough” and read the eye chart exam.

The biggy coming out of it for me today is last year I did a cardiac stress test as required, as 2023 is rolling into play, my planning and scheduling is falling in play to do the stress test in the summer in preparation for my December physical.

Gotta give people time to write their letters etc and the system to work donchaknow….

“Give it some time. There’s changes coming in 2023 that you likely won’t have to do another stress test….”

Ooooookay….

This will be interesting to see how it goes…

No one has probed me for the turn and cough, checked my heart, or ever given me a stress test. The only things I ever have to do in a DOT is blood pressure, urine sugar, hearing and eye test. It takes them a half hour to put in the results and I'm out of there as fast as possible so my blood pressure settles down. Damn, I hate any kind of doctor's office.

I'm good until August of '23, so I'm pretty sure it was my last. I may do it again, just to keep my CDL. You never know what the future holds for the economy. Once you give up the license, you'll play hell to get it back. It will be like starting all over.

Depends where ya go if you go a simple clinic or a place like Concentra they do bare bones basic physical heck I get more detailed physicals from the Plasma Donation Center than doing a DOT at those kinda places..

Now if your company sends you to a Hospital or a Clinic associated with a Hospital or System you are gonna do the "Complete" I mean strip down Paper Gown and the "Whole 9 Yards" physical.

When I ran outta Minnesota the Physical Card was "your" responsibility to get on your own so I'd go to "Walk In Clinic" but only a one nurse was "certified" so hadda make appointment for DOT..

The Grain Elevator, Millis Transfer, and the Reefer haul sent ya to "Real Hospital" so that was Real Deal Physical..

Now most "Mega-Fleets" have such big orientation classes they bring a guy right "on-site" at terminal do everybody's physicals in one day and those are also "Quickie" physicals

I agree. My last employer had you run the gamut, everything. Now, I do the walk in joint that just wants to process you and get the cash. If I had to do a 'real deal' physical, I may have a heart attack at the results. And that's only because I'm in a doctor's office. I can do BP at home, even after mowing the lawn and it's way below DOT legal. Mow the lawn and walk into a doctor's office and my BP is off the charts. I just get really shook up about doctors. I'm 64 1/2 and I'm on no big pharma drugs at all and I'm just fine. I refuse to put their shit into my body.
