Can you license a tractor-trailer for private use?

I would think you could register it as a recreational vehicle. I can't find anything about travel trailers towed by a semi truck.
(obviously I don't know the rules in the U.S. about this but, I just wanted to help)
I did find this, and I would think ( I am not sure) but I would think the regulations would be the same if you registered it as a recreational vehicle.
You do have the air brake license and a CDL so, driving it shouldn't be an issue.
Maybe some kind member here can pull into the scale house and ask one of the friendly DOT officers.

Yes. Here in PA you can. It would be classified an RV.
My neighbor's boss retained the 5th wheel.
there's no cdl requirement in south dakota i think there's none in fl also ( not sure though ) there's none required in texas though you need some kind of trailer endorsement i forget what they call it... and that's for private use only. and in south dakota i don't think you would have to have it inspected not sure though you don't need to inspect 4 wheelers. i would check my local laws as each state is different!!!

You can license any vehicle is a privately owned vehicle.
Your commercial vehicle can be used for vacation purposes. Just cover up the identifying information and you are good.
Drivers license? You simply need an air brake endorsement on your regular drivers license to operate a vehicle with air brakes.

Probably not super expensive, but I would imagine you are looking at a higher rate than with a 1 ton pickup.
The liability portion of my insurance for the next year is $4200, collision is $1800. But, that is commercial insurance based on driving many more miles and likely being at a higher risk category due to it being commercially operated. Even my numbers would be lower, but I'm overinsured copared to what most carry.

Nonetheless @Duck ya live on a Farm get Farm Registration just make sure ya on "Farm Buisness" there just keep it hauling crops & livestock

Farm vehicles are restricted to 150 air miles from their farm.

Welp ya not really in Buisness just need an "excuse " avoid the taxes correct that's why I ya do it farm
i'd be wondering if...
1) they sell off the equipment in lots of say 5 each (or more)
2) if they do sell single units, the cream of the crop will not be cheap
3) knowing the LTL companies out here, those tractors are beat to hell, and the trailers ain't no better.
4) might be invitation only sale, for businesses first, the scrap yard stuff much later after that.
5) here one can register a tractor as an RV, no signage on the equipment,
