BROKER RECORD

If it's on the internet & you can find it, without having to "hack" into something, then it's legal.

Not sure if I understand your question though. Are you asking if it's illegal for ANYONE to get the information, ... or if it's legal to get the information ABOUT anyone?

I know it's legal if you're looking up a trucking company or an independent O/O. Looking up an individual driver's history is also legal, but will probably cost money, unless that person you're looking up is yourself.

There are free broker credit checking web sites. Just do a web search, that's all I use.

You won't get what you need from a free service. Truckers do not have access to the credit bureau unless they belong to it. The info you want is from a service The Internet Truckstop or others provide for a fee.

Days to Pay. Credit Score within the trucking industry. Claims on their bond. Failure to pay TNU. Failure to pay detention. And verified complaints with regards to verbal agreements.

Most of us will not deal with a broker unless their credit rating is an A and their days to pay is 30 or less. Once they look like crap they cancel their membership to The Internet Truckstop and move over to Get Loaded which does not have a credit department.

Large companies like even Landstar had a crap rating early this year with their days to pay at 45 and their rating at "B". They got it back up though. You won't see ANY of this stuff on a free service.

KDT...Can you give me a link to the site you use? I can give you some real world examples.
