Just for all driver's information the Flying J in Breezewood, Pa is now closed. Just heard this from drivers that attempted to use J but is is all locked up. The TA will really be jammed now.

Yeah the independent co/op that owned that one lost a lot of business around breezewood. That’s why the store was empty. They didn’t pay their bills. I’m surprised flying jay didn’t by it out for pennies on the dollar and remodel. They removed it from our fuel network about 3 weeks ago.

Duck,
I also read on another truck forum that the property owner might have closed off part of the parking area and then would not allow a lease renewal for the truck stop. BS I think.

There's an old hotel behind it. It's a lot of land. Wonder if it's the same owner and they would rather raze it all to build a fancy new hotel.

And by fancy new I mean Motel 6 or something. Anything where the people are cleaner and less noisy and vehicles are less rutting the ground-ish.

I dunno if hotels are or are not more profitable than truck stops though.

Restaurant was a Perkins. I only ate there once. Super small portions. Total waste of time and money.
So probably close to two years ago I go into the Perkins to eat. The gal says, let me just tell you what we do have that you can order. They only had about 6 menu items available at that point. So go out and talk to the guy at the fuel desk. And he was the one that told me the group that owned them didn’t like to pay their bills and about how a bunch of the other businesses they had around town had went tits up. Few months later only Pepsi products in the store no tobacco, one isle of chips and little Debbie stuff, Perkins was closed, few months later idle air shut down and they started charging for parking. Store in same condition. They actually lasted a lot longer than I thought they would. It was just about a month ago that they were removed from our fuel network.

As I said I figured PFJang would step in and buy the property at pennies on the dollar and make it an actual PFJ. But. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I remember them not having any cigarettes but I just assumed they got busted selling to minors.

Maybe that was the case way back when that was? They had a couple rows of smokes not many brands and only Copenhagen snuff and Skoal Classic wintergreen for dip.
