breaker-breaker...I need a complete glossary of American trucker CB lingo, you got a copy on that, good buddies, come back!

They all have Smartphones , due to one of the two needs to be smart.

C.B is not dead, just a different breed of drivers out there today. Die hard truckers still have, use, and have a brain to know to keep them on to receive those "bear reports", traffic/ construction incidents, and so forth

In some cases. There has to be something smart in the truck. Smartphones, and technology have taken the human brain, common sense, and replaced it with idiocracy
Maybe it’s the rose coloured spectacles but I sort of miss calling in from a pay phone. Get sent to Houston or Miami and never talk to anyone at the office until you were there and delivered

Ya I was gonna say I never really had that problem getting hanmered about what's going on when's it getting there how you making out etc etc. MY problem was always having to beat them head and shoulders to get the next one on the deck.

I never really got hassled about what I was doing and if I would be on time.
Except one time the DM sat messaged me asking if I was going to be on time? I called her back and said I hope so, I am 100miles away and it don't deliver until tomorrow. She was confused on what day it was. :rolllaugh:
We had a good laugh.

How are you making out? ( kinda personal doncha think?)
I am not making out, I am driving right now! :rolllaugh:

I'm making out like I always do. With one hand on the wheel and the other wherever she'll let me.

Y'all got yur ears on?

I need all the 10-codes and CB lingo for 2019 and if that also included some which was used in the 1970's then so be it.

I need to learn all I need to know as an American OTR driver these days who still uses the old-fashioned talker.

Some I remember from the olden days:

bubble-gum machine: police car with old fashioned dome lights on top
beaver: female in vehicle, esp. a young looker
take a 10-100: use the lavatory
copy- understand me
over- your turn to talk
10-4- hear you loud and clear
talker- the 40-channel radio from Radio Shack Tandy Corp.
key the mike- press to talk
squelch- cut out all that damn static
10-10 on the side- standing by; lightning but no talking
smokey bear: state police
bear in the air: police in helicopter
wall to wall with bears: cops everywhere
hammer: gas pedal
invitation: traffic citation
back door: rear of vehicle
in the rocking chair: hiding in the middle of a convoy
Dirty Dog: Husky TS in Canada
county mounty: sheriff or deputy
mountie mounty: Canadian royal police
polar bear: unmarked white police car
plain white wrapper: see above
bear bait: speeding driver
momma bear/Miss Piggy: woman cop
suicide jockey: hazmat placarded trucker
Channel 19: the favorite hangout of truck drivers on the air
double nickel: 55 mph speed zone
chicken coop: weigh station
Chi-Town: windy city, horrible tap water

That reminded me of the DVD set of "Movin-On" I bought at the Truckstop
