The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s Brake Safety Week 2019 starts Sunday.

Brake Safety Week is scheduled for Sept. 15-21. Enforcement officials will conduct roadside safety inspections on commercial motor vehicles across North America throughout the week.

Inspectors will be paying special attention to brake hoses/tubing. CVSA is highlighting brake hoses/tubing as a reminder of their importance to vehicle mechanical fitness and safety, according to a news release. These brake system components are always a part of the North American standard inspection program, however.

Out-of-adjustment brakes and brake-system violations represented 45% of all out-of-service vehicle violations issued during last year’s three-day International Roadcheck enforcement campaign, according to a news release.

Brake Safety Week is part of the Operation Airbrake Program, sponsored by CVSA in partnership with FMCSA and the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators.

Operation Airbrake is a comprehensive program dedicated to improving commercial vehicle brake safety throughout North America. The Operation Airbrake campaign was initially developed in Canada in 1998, according to the CVSA website.

And I need a new set of air lines. They are fine, but some super trooper might decide the chafing is too much.

Geez man, I have gotten messages from our saftey guy like 2 times a week for the last month and a half about this. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄. Much like my birthday, every day next week is just another day for me.

Still, good idea to go and put your hands on all the air lines. Surprising how many non leaking air lines suddenly make an audible leak once you bend them just a tiny bit. Everybody overfocuses on brake adjustment, when air leaks are the problems that sneak up on you.

They gotta have a reason to pull you over to inspect you. They been harping that in the message, no phones, no speeding, no lane violations, all lights working. Chaffing ticket? Psh. I’m sure TMC would get that thrown out. You can make anything leak if you pull hard enough. I’ll probably have 3 different trailers before then.

You oughta yank the mill out that beast just in case one goes tits up in the future. You can drop a power house in it and keep trucking.
yeah, I have been choking on that item since the accident.

as much as I would like to find someone who could really use it, not many takers on it though.

banks and financing are forcing the issue and as a result, it's going to salvage unless someone wants to get with me.

2007 Century with a deleted 14L Series 60 set for 650/2350 would bring something you'd think. Make a killer glider ride. Just not for me.

Texas Texas Texas.

Those bastards shot off a ramp and pulled me over because my placards weren't clear enough. New placards, new plastic covers, you could see them from the space station, but they weren't clear enough.

Brake safety week, they turned on the flashing lights at the weight stations on 20 and 30 in east Texas, and nailed several of our brand new trucks for "chafing" on the brand new air lines.

Guess where I won't go during any sort of safety week? Texas!

I hope to be sitting in the yard for the most part outfitting a new to me rig. I got the trailer all put together and will have to hang a single box on the curb side and it will be ready to go. Ramps and all installed.

The truck will be a bit of a different story.

They know better than to send me to Texas. I got suck down there bouncing around for two straight fucking weeks without leaving the state. I lost it on my FM my Ops M and anyone else on that conference call and who reads my Qualcomm messages. I haven’t been back to Texas since. Matter of fact. One time my FM said they offered us a load to Texas but I turned it down, I know how you feel about Texas. 🤣🤣🤣

I'm not a scale dodger, but when I lived there, I dodged them at every opportunity.
