A nap a day may keep the heart attack away.....

Here's a study suggesting we get a nap at work each day. You guys don't seem to catch a break. Hang in there, and get a quick snooze in when you get a chance......off the road of course..... :)

Yes I believe that it not only helps lower blood pressure but is essential for truck drivers to get a power nap to help us drivers get down the road safely. A power nap is a 15 minute nap that can energize you when you need to make a deadline.
Go to The Power Nap to get ideas for taking a power nap

I am not trying to be super trucker over here. I am not tired during the day.
I was when I started out in this racket. Man I was dragging ass and welcomed a nap.

Nowadays I am conditioned to be alert all day and it takes about 2 hours to wind down from the day. I believe you get a better nights rest this way.

However, I can not refute the benefits of warding off a heart attack by napping. I never did much of that book learnin'.
This industry is murder.

IMHO life is the leading cause of death!

There have been plenty of times when I've used my 30 minute break for sleep and another 15 minutes on the phone calling customers and whatnot (because I can't find the little headset I got as a gift for Fathers Day)...

Seriously though I've found that diet plays a big part in this, and that's where paleo really helped me. Carbs in the morning to crank you metabolism up, and eat light the rest of the day.

It's only when I stray from this path and eat heavy crap during the day that I get groggy now.

Eat a big breakfast, eat light the rest of the day.

Depends on what you eat I guess.
I don't do breakfast...
unless you count a pack of smokes and 2 quarts of coffee.
:surprised:
The jokers who lap up a pound of sausage and a quart each of syrup and gravy might as well be DUI a couple of hours later as far as I'm concerned.
