I ran out of tomatoe states and tried something different this year.I went with the florida weave....
a stake every 3 plants and string between
if I wasn`t so cheap I would have bought some more stakes

Diatomaceous Earth is good for some things and it’s natural. I used a bag last night on my beds cause I got HUGE ant colony’s. Supposed to work on Beatles too. JB’s would attack my pole beans every year. Little fuckers.

I`ve heard about that dave,I went to pick some blueberry leaves and make a glass of tea and i found a few little white bugs on my plants

Looks real nice @Injun.

You done good.

I like the flowers in your beds. I put a few in my beds this year but they haven’t taken off yet. Actually, I think I have soil issues. I’m going to send in a sample and see what’s going on. My guess is my ph is low.

I dig the frog also.

My soil tested pretty ok. Gotta add some boron. Ph was 6.5 but I had added some lime a few weeks ago, not much though I didn’t want to risk going overboard without knowing the baseline.

The tomatoes are starting to take off now and I went over last week and got a couple yards of composted horse manure. I’ll add that this weekend and maybe that’ll give them a little boost.

I have one squash that is doing fantastic and another that is struggling. They are in the same bed. :confused-96:

I added some lime also Dave,a little late

some peppers had end rot too.
Squash and cukes doing good
tomoatoes doing fair....popcorn still growing but no tassels yet

blueberries doing fine, already snatched a few off to nibble on

this fall,I am going to add more lime,10-10-10,and a bunch of leavesfrom my mom in laws big oaks next door and dig it all up for next year

I put mulched leaves on my beds in the fall when they start falling off the trees. Scrape them off in the spring.
I thought about filling up a strip of ground and planting some blueberries. A few years ago I researched the different varieties but never did plant any. I think blueberries like a more acidic soil. Maybe I’ll revisit this idea.

someone gave us 6 blueberry sprouts 4 or 5 years ago

I did my research and dug 6 holes about 2`x2`x2`
filled them up with potting soil and perlite
5 years now and they are 5-8 foot tall and need pruning
figure to prune half at the time so i can keep a few to eat on

they have plenty of sprouts if I wanted to do more bushes

Me and Sandy were at the Cheapo Depot one day and she wanted a blueberry bush. We bought one, I planted it and it died quickly. That’s when I did some research. Turns out we did everything wrong. Wrong type of plant, we only bought one and I think you need at least two? And my soil was probably all wrong.
I like blueberries. I need to try again.
