I'm curious why anyone would want to hear or talk greater then 1/2 a mile or so. When I first started I bought a 10 meter radio. Someone would come over and say there's an accident in the granny lane until I realized they were 300 miles away. Took it out.

This is the BEST antenna mount for the Cascadia. I've been using this style mount for about 5 years or more.... Works GREAT !

What's the purpose for tilting antennas forward like that?

Tilting mine forward moved it away from the cab & sleeper j st enough to reduce the reflection and help lower the SWR a bit.
