2008 Volvo question

Has anyone that drives a Volvo had any problems with the driverside fuel tank shifting? Last thursday I broke down 40 miles north of Indy on 65 south, the service guy told me my tank has shifted causing the cross over to pop out causing it to suck air and killing the engine. lost all power including the steering was not a good experience.:runningaround:

Haha, good for Volvo selling junk! No wonder why fleets are ditching their junk. I hear U.S. Xpress is selling 75 Volvo's and replacing them with Mack! It's about time, support Mack not junk Volvo!

Yes,I really think there is some problem with Volvo trucks now a days.I have Volvo 2001 I bought new batteries still my truck is not working.Sometimes it do start but did not stay for along.I think the diesel pump is not working.I have took it to mechanic now lets see what happens

That just doesn't make any sense to me, Volvo and Mack are the same company now. As a manufacturer Volvo now has both the Volvo and Mack brands under the same roof, so to speak. If there are problems with one a person could assume that there would most likely be similar problems with the other.

Makes all the sense! Volvo is gonna do to Mack what they did to Autocar/White/GM kill them off. They are NOT the same brands and if you know Volvo's greedy ways they are gonna try to kill off Mack.

Until August 13th, of this year, the Macks were rolling down the same production line as the Volvos at the New River Plant in Dublin, VA. Now they have moved to Macungie, PA.

First Pinnacle rolls off Mack’s Macungie line

"Mack Truck’s new Macungie Assembly Operation in Pennsylvania is now a fully functioning production line as the first Pinnacle tractor rolled off the line on Aug. 13."

"Production of the Pinnacle is being transferred to Macungie from the New River Valley plant in Dublin, VA, to take advantage of “consolidated assembly and to create a brand-specific environment for Mack customers,” the company said.

They recently moved their corporate headquarters to the Volvo Corporate Headquarters campus in Greensboro, NC as well.

I may be reading them wrong, but, I don't think shutting down Mack is in the business plan. Mack has too many brand loyal customers for that to happen.

Yeah that is what pisses me off is moving the corporate headquarters to NC. But I think your right, cause if Volvo kills Mack then that means they are losing money big time.
