What would happen if employers forced truckers to get vaccinated?

Even before the FDA approved the Pfizer vaccine, though, companies from Facebook to Ford, from retailers to restaurants, clinics and pharmacies had mandated employees show proof of vaccination before returning to on-site work.

But in the trucking world, with so many independent contractors and owner operators who can, and do, frequently take business elsewhere when work requirements prove too onerous, do big businesses and employers even have the leverage to mandate vaccinations?

No, they don't, according to early indications.

Vaccine mandates might backfire spectacularly for fleets, shippers

Inward facing dash cams didn't cause any crippling retention problems for the big fleets. That's the best reason I've ever heard of for telling companies to fuck off.

What makes you think vaccine mandates will?

We live in a country full of cowards and sheep.

Are you sure it wasn't thing like putting food on the table, mortgages, car payments, the need to buy diapers, etc?

Easy to pontificate when you have zero skin in the game.

Again, if dash cams weren't enough for drivers to tell them to fuck off and switch companies, why would the covid shot be? The need for an income is the same either way, and the average company driver seems to switch companies often enough anyway, over other reasons like home time, detention/layover, unreliable equipment, etc

Oh, and how about you take your ignorant, conceited attitude and stuff it?

There is no ignorance in my opinion. I actually work in this industry. All the time.

because there weren't gov approved and the vax shots were causing all kinds of side effects. and what's the effing difference. get the shot you still can catch covid still have to wear a freaking mask!!! and you can die more from the flu vs covid. so why didn't the shove the flu vax down everyones throats back in the day:confused-96:

id'e give em the two :thefinger: :thefinger::thefinger::thefinger:. that's a violation of my constitutional rights!!!

The businesses and corporations have the constitutional right to mandate as well.

Frankly I think 9 out of 10 will be mandating it or risk Lawsuits eventually and of course being "shamed" by the Media..

It seems the new vaccination push is to make life difficult if not almost "impossible" for the Un-Vaccinated even outright demanding it as of lately.

So eventually either you get vaccinated or ya probably won't be allowed to leave your house in the not so distant future

As long as they wait one more year for that, so I can lay back and say, :thefinger::bootyshake: Just one more year and I'm outta this racket. If not, I'll still give it all up. I'll water the petunias and veggies in the back yard while everyone else is dying from vaccine complications.

I already have the shots. ( I have to say that. I think it is a side effect of the vaccine)
If I didn't have the shots and the company wanted me to get the vaccine I would refuse. I don't think they have the right to govern my body and violate my employment rights. I am more than sure an employment lawyer could get a judge to see things my way.
Stick your job, Fuck you, pay me!

i've been fully vaxxed since May. i don't even come into any contact with anyone at the warehouses i go to. the only possible person to person contact, is if i stop at the truck stop for a couple of roller dogs and a beverage.

not even any co-worker's at my starting point do i have any contact with.

but i do have family i need to protect.

as it is, my employer has had no such standing orders to get vaxxed.

so if it were to be mandated, i'd not really care, i'd be "grandfathered in"....

Which particular amendment or clause gives companies the "right" to mandate anything?

I'm curious.

And you see how very few actually quit and switch companies over the driver facing cameras. I don't think vaccine mandates would cause a retention problem either. Everybody is a passive sheep these days.

Which companies would you recommend they go to?
