Used Walmart Trucks

Sinister

As our (dreaded) 2020 models come in they’re phasing our 15-16 and some older ones out. They go auction usually and not to used lots. In just over 2.5 years here I’ve had very few problems with Walmart trucks and if you’re looking for quality used these are worth considering.

Now it’s important to note these are used and subject to drivers whims and habits, some of which can be dumb. You’ll notice the clutch pedal on this 15 worn completely smooth, and all week I drove this thing I didn’t care for the adjustment.

A few weeks ago I had another old timers truck and the clutch pedal had really weird wear on it. Like the guy used the clutch for EVERYTHING and had bound feet like a rural Chinese female.

There was also a bit of slop in the fifth wheel but I had no problems.

The fridge was clean and worked so good it froze all my damn salads.

This APU has between 12,000 and 14,000 hours which is the most I’ve ever seen. It started and stopped fine all week, didn’t sputter at start up, didn’t squeal or smoke.573745B6-F385-46A9-A645-E0F3F515FD1F.jpeg7769437A-D036-436D-A04F-153E96F68318.jpeg519E3BD6-D839-4AF2-8EB4-44BEA64F55E3.jpeg573745B6-F385-46A9-A645-E0F3F515FD1F.jpeg7769437A-D036-436D-A04F-153E96F68318.jpeg519E3BD6-D839-4AF2-8EB4-44BEA64F55E3.jpeg

Also I forgot to take pictures of the engine

Most are Detroit with some Cummins floating around. You’ll have to get those parameters changed because they’ve got the Cummins so gutless here it’s maddening to drive them.

I think the Detroit is set at 455 and the Cummins is set to Power Hamster.

Used Peterbilts will probably have the Cummins also. I’m not sure if Walmart messes with the Paccar MX.

Also any freightliner older than a 14 will NOT a fridge. You can tell by looking at the lower fairings.

In 2014 they went from straight white fairings to grey ones.

I apologize for having this much freightliner knowledge. It was forced upon me.
