Maybe if you get five or so referral bonuses a day it pays well? Kind of like a pyramid scheme company.

I would run all the numbers before passing judgement.

Free ez pass could be golden if you are running in a high toll area.

What are the cargo and insurance rates you have been quoted? Some are quoted upwards of near $30k per year, depending where they live. Divide that out and see what it costs per mile.

Would I do it? No. Much rather run under my own authority. That said, they are in line with many other companies that lease on trucks.

In the past couple months, you might have made better with this scenario than pulling your own dry van trailer.

I think, before the virus, rates were averaging around $1.75 nationally for a dry van. Add in empty miles, that number drops.

Their rate, including FSC, would have had you in the neighborhood of $1.40. Factor in all the things you no longer have to pay for, the hours you no longer have to spend running your own business 100%, you aren’t too far separated in numbers.

The difference would come in your ability to negotiate rates and keeping yourself in the best paying lanes, both of which you no longer have to worry about.

...and the 4396824906824349672946749th time it has been mischaracterized. I saw the original post of this video on FB, and the original comments by the person who shot it - a CDL driver. The dude panicked. That's the totality of it. There's a wide spot at the point where the video was shot. She (the videographer and CDL driver) tried to talk him into backing the truck to that area, but he got in the truck and freaked out.
