Truckers/American to strike


How many times have people tried unsuccessfully to organize a trucker strike, only to have a miniscule number of participants who end up accomplishing nothing?

Getting all of the nation's truck drivers to cooperate is impossible given the widely different backgrounds of drivers & the many facets of the industry.

Your best bet would be to just organize all of the truckers who deliver diesel fuel to the truck stops, because without them, we ALL shut down. However that in itself would be a serious uphill battle since most tanker yankers are paid well & wouldn't want to risk their jobs.

Most the tanker drivers I've met aren't paid very well.

I agree, but I also think America might be changing. The silent majority are getting getting fed up with corporate greed and government incompetency. Americans are ready to take back their country. Its only naysayers like you holding back the momentum.
 
duck you are so right Mcdonald's employees can organize for a livable wage, but the American truckers just don't have the will, the power, or the numbers to make any difference, let the striking hamburger flippers show the rest of us the way to do it right, after all everyone needs a big mac but who needs truckers?

The McDonald's employees are even less organized than the truckers. They're only making news because the liberal media wants it to. The actual numbers of McDonald's employees who were striking is extremely small compared to the numbers who weren't.
 
I think the recent bikers ride on DC shows that Americans can band together for a cause if they want. Even the gays can band together, which is why THEY have a voice and are getting things done to their favor.

Why do you suppose the bikers can band together, and all the liberal freaks can do it... but truckers can't or won't? That's the problem that needs to be solved first.
For the record, I do support a trucker strike. I'm not talking about a bunch of greedy Teamsters at some LTL terminal, I'm talking about all of us.

But seeing how pathetic the past attempts have been, I just don't see it happening.

But in order for it to happen we have to have solidarity. Instread of being a naysayer we have to suck the rest of the flock into believing (in the cause) as well.
