Trucker strike - is this really happening :)

Look at it this way : you set up a strike on a holiday weekend where most drivers are going to be home anyways?

Virtue signaling at best, the same morons who felt that split speed limits were worthy of a strike last time coming up with this at worst.

The only way to do a real trucking shutdown would be to organize the drivers who haul diesel fuel. Because they're a much smaller number of drivers. You'll never get a big enough percent of everyone else to make a noticeable impact.
Yeap gotta force everyone to shut down whether they agree with it or not.

isn't' it interesting that groups like black lives matter can put together a riot in a few days
but truckers can't organize to stop something that would put their livelihoods in jeopardy,
the end of fracking and the implementation of the green new deal will cause fuel to rise to unaffordable levels so there goes the independents,
and company drivers, don't think that helps you either, the companies will have even more incentive to increase efficiency, by increased use of the rails and "road trains" and even these will be driver-less
what will be left for the truckers will be the last mile loads that automation will not be able to cover, at least for the near future.
all of this will leave the truckers sitting in the dark wondering why someone else isn't changing the light bulb
as black lives matter and other radical far left groups march down the street burning and destroying everything in their path

You can't strike on "maybe this will happen".

You'll make a complete ass of yourself.

It's partly because we have a livelihood that requires us to work in order to survive.

Much easier to go burn things down all night when you can sleep in and wait for mailbox money to show up.

@Mike I know you know exactly where I have always stood stood on this and I remember that at least at one time you also had the same feelings on the matter.
and I remember when a small ragtag of brothers scared the hell out of the brokers who spent a fortune to stop them from righting a wrong, THEY certainly b anded together in one big damn hurry, the government was also worried to the point they met with the truckers to hear their grievances, and even worked at least partly as the brokers were required after that to provide true shipping charges to the people providing the service, it didn't extend to any "civilian" loads but at least was a small victory for the truckers.

the money argument really doesn't hold up, if by some miracle this was ever to happen it would take less than a week probably MUCH less and and any trucker worth their salt should be able to handle that small loss with ease otherwise they are in the wrong business.
AND at this point in time the majority of the public would wholeheartedly support this if given the facts and goals properly.
