Truck stop scammers

There was a study done by fox a few years ago, they said most people holding those carboard signs make around 100k a year+ depending on how much they move around.

They did an average per hour\day\month income of a group of them, some were even millionaires dressing up asking for handouts.

Yup,There was a lady that used to shake and twitch around evereyone would give her money as she held her hand out.She was dubbed the shaky lady when she was exposed by the media. It turns out after her day of begging her son would pick her up in a high end automobile and take her home to her upscale condo filled with the finer things in life.

i came across a lady in which she said that the guy just left her and took off in her truck and took everything and she wanted me to take her out west, come to find out when i told the employee inside about the supposed theft of her truck, shes pulled that on alot of people with the exception of having help also.inwhich they were the ones that was knocking out drivers and stealing there stuff

Not all of them are scammers. We have an elderly lady who hangs out at the local Wally-World. One day we followed her home just to see what she was really all about. She lives in a run down garage, and she walked over two miles to get there. I felt so bad for being skeptical, we knocked on the door and took her and her two grandchildren out for dinner. Eventually she was able to get more help from some local churches and now I think she does janitorial work in exchange for help. She is a very proud woman, doesn't want to be a panhandler, but resources are pretty slim around here.

I know it gets tiresome having so many people with their hands out, but I try to help out a little in case they are really in trouble.

Paint me gulible.

Still a scam. You should see the inside of the garage. Like a palace inside. Just looks bad on the outside to fool the taxman.

That's a really nice thing you did...

I don't care if I'm being gulible or a sucker.....God knows my heart and knows that I'm trying to do the right thing and if someone is taking advantage of me, they have to answer for that....

T/A Truck Stop.... sorry, TRAVEL CENTER in Terrell, TX (I-20, Exit 503)

always some guys there trying to sell entertainment systems out of their car or truck.

That's not a scam that's a sale...lol...

I never looked at it from that perspective before. If I ever decide to take a trip back to Chicago, then I will have to ride the El Train and look for one of those guys that has half of an electronics store inside of his trench coat, and give him "props" for keeping the prices "real"...... :duckhunt:

I would think so, fortunately, Starbucks coffedd doesn't cost that much, yet.

Yes, a plain cup of coffee is not so much. But when I go for coffee at a specialty coffee place I am not there for an ordinary cup of joe. I can get that anywhere, and Starbucks is selling a name and not much else.

Coffee is coffee.

Other that the fact that Starbucks claims they are trying to source coffee beans from markets that do not promote slave labor, etc. The coffee beans are just coffee beans.

A tall, or 12oz cup of Starbucks coffee costs $1.40 to $1.65. 12oz Lattes run $2.40 to $3.10. A 12oz Mocha goes for $2.70 to $3.40. Prices are dependent on the market and location.

I never go to Starbucks that have a tip jar on the counter. Their job looks easier than McDonalds or any other place like that. There are no tip jars at McDonalds so why at Starbucks? I never tip 'em at Starbucks, ... unless they're hot college girls or something, .. then you gotta put in a dollar so they don't discover how much of a cheapskate I really am. But only if they're looking. If they don't see you put the dollar in there, it's a wasted dollar.

Those are the prices for the 12 oz sizes. Tall, my ass!! And why is their biggest cup size only 20 oz? And does anyone actually say "venti" when ordering? I just say "large" or "20 ounce" because I'm an American and I only speak English.

I think more people then not are hip to their game. After that I swore I was'nt going to help anyone else out.If they're hungry fine i'll buy them a meal or if I have something i'll be more then happy to give it to them but money IS DEFFINATELY OUT!!!!!!!!!!
