could you make do with a 40 ft flatbed??? seeing that half of loads are less than max ....
what do you think??
 

There are benefits to shorter and benefits to longer.

Most time, it has to do more with being able to get your internal bridge weights correct to go with a 43 or 45' trailer.
 
Most steel beams I haul are 40'
Pipe is 20' sections
Steel bars are 20' sections
Containers are 40' or 2 20'
Bagged anything is heavy and takes up like 30' at most
Shingles no problem
Super sacks no problem

I was trying to think of my last load that was longer then 35' and can't
