So, I'm a Driver...

Yeah hence the rolling eyes. Never give the newb the new truck. It is like a bylaw in the trucking company handbook ;)

And at least the scenery is nice.

Well, got a Penske loaner. Also found out that Toll Roads don't take credit or debit cards. WTF? Many people live completely without cash or checks now, so why did they think it's a good idea to not be able to pay tolls with a card?

I think I remember running a toll booth in New Jersey once that didn't take plastic. Something about they only took cash & there was no stop arm or it was already raised so I just took off.

I'm not sure if I really did it or if I just wished I had. It's been years. Or if it was something else I'm remembering.

I'm getting senile.

I do know for a fact I did that at a Costco warehouse in the Seattle area once when they wouldn't let me leave with an empty trailer. Doors were pinned open so there was no reason for not allowing me out. There was no stop arm and the gate was open so I just said "bye bye" & left. Pulled out onto the street and closed the doors. I remember getting b****ed at by the boss for that one. ;)

That's something that irritated me to no end when I ran OTR. I bring in a full trailer, I expect to leave with an empty one. The customer doesn't own the trailer just because it's parked on their lot. They want an empty trailer with (insert big company)'s name on it? Unload the full one I just brought in.

So, I've come to terms with the fact I will probably never own my Euro cabover...

But, I have found another COE that I really like: Kentworth K100 Aerodyne.

I know there aren't many left, but with a little luck and some hard with I think I could get my hands on one and set it up the way I want.

I used to like those when I was a kid and in fact, somewhere in a box under a box under a box, behind a pile of clutter in the barn, I have a Matchbox one with that same paint scheme, or very similar.

Find it and I'll buy it. I collect HotWheels and Matchbox cars.

So, another truck, and more issues. 2005 Volvo. TriPac APU needs A/C recharge, fuel gauge doesn't work, needs some serious cleaning. I will say this thing rides very nice though, the layout is great inside, and it handles very well.
