Snow Stakes

They pop up about this time every year. I wonder are they required in some places? They certainly are used for more than just snow and plows. They have like a dozen names or so and a dozen or more uses.

But its like the rest of the winter you really don't see them much anymore. What's up with that?

And its like who places these things in the ground anyway. I have never seen anyone placing them; they're just there.

Welp when it really "Snows" people just wanna get in their driveway so I wouldn't worry about that too much..

If they "B-Word" & Complain I'd just remind them of "Labor Shortages" and be my "guest" call a competitor and wait 6/8 weeks just make an appointment..

Or "except" the crappy job pay "Ca$h" I be here Next Time & "On-Time" too

Garden gnomes put them up at night, to protect the edges of natural areas from damage from snow plows. Then they hibernate underground for the rest of the winter.

Most of my extended family live in the country. I am a city boy.
I had to ask my Dad, why do these people have reflectors at the end of their driveway?
So they know where their driveway is at night or in the snow.

The struggle is real!

Thats just it. I have never seen them on a residential house, just businesses. And it made me wonder why.

Yes its real.

I was just wondering why its like a one time thing. I mean its like you see them for a couple weeks or so. They fall over, break blow away, and its like thats it, they are not replaced, you don't see them anymore. At least in our neck of the woods this is the way it is.

I think some places require it. But I'm not sure thats why I inquired here.

Commercial business have them installed by their snow removal guys so they know where the grass/curb is.

They are liable for any damages and need to repair in the spring. They’ll also mark places of concern like curb stops etc.

Ok then I wonder why one business has them all over the place and the business right across the street has none.

Same landscape setup and everything.

You'd think there would be more of these snow stakes on many more businesses.

Depends on the contractor.

Common in Minnesota to see it especially when it’s a new contract for some folks.
