Signed Up With Amazon Relay This Week

never pulled an Amazon load. I took the time to do their online orientation, got all set up, but there rates never climbed above the point of mediocre. It's probably been a year since I have even looked at their load board at this point.

I have replied to a couple messages to recover loads for them, but even in desperation, their offers still sucked.

At this point, Amazon couldn't pay me enough to haul their freight, but I won't get into that in this thread.
You built the sty, but you won't wallow in it?

From some of the stories I've heard it makes pulling cans more appealing... If that's even possible. Sort of like TQL and #1 being mentioned in the same sentence

Ok, bumping this one since we have @Electric Chicken who is actually using this load board. I logged in for the first time in over a year this evening, and the market they signed me up for (which didn't actually exist yet) has some pretty good power only rates right now. If I get my freaking parking spot secured anytime soon, I might be able to actually use this board finally.

Power Only seems to be where it's at with these guys, that or short trucks.

What I am seeing currently out of the Little Rock market is overnight runs up to Missouri and out to Georgia for $4-$5+ per mile. The rates were nothing like this when I last checked it out. Not sure how long they will remain that way (possibly holiday freight), but definitely something worth jumping on while the opportunity is there.

Need to look more nationwide and see what they have to offer.

As I look to narrow down my operating area, these guys could definitely become useful.

Searched out of my area and they have power only runs (multiple loads), 5,100 total miles, for $17k. That is on a 4 day schedule, so clearly a team run.

It's one of those things where most loads suck so you leave those to the desperados. Then grab the last minute stuff because all the desperados are busy.

They also post some insane stuff from time to time. I saw one not long ago that was a 3 day run they were allowing 2 and a half to do.

In other words, it checked out using Google Maps with a sedan. So they posted it.

I also missed out on a couple sweet (by my standards at least) runs while my air leaks were being investigated.

Catch me up to speed on the specifics of running these loads.

don't you need some sort of app for checking in to their facilities?

Are they being pretty good about having trailers ready on time?

The relay app has everything you need. They check you in with your license plate. You either call/text a number if they have one posted with your load ID or you simply yell at them through the shack window if they don't post a phone number.

It's really slick and if their rates were better across the board, I'd do everything through them.

They're good about being ready on time. I won't say 100% because I've had some cancelations but I'm also a small player without having enough time in to get accurate percentages. A couple of my cancelations weren't even loads. They were pulling empties that weren't empty yet. One was an empty at a tow company they hadn't paid the bill for.

Paper BOLs are a thing of the past. It's in the app once you confirm your trailer, and you don't have anyone sign it when you deliver. Your GPS arrival and clicking a button saying you dropped it are your "signatures."

I haven't done a single live to know how that's handled. Nor have I been to any third parties. It's all been DC to DC.

Oh and nobody checks seals anymore. They have a little radio in them for the guard to read it electronically. If you pull from a door it's laying in the trailer. So go ahead and close the doors and put the seal on.

Every company needs to operate the way Amazon does. Amazon just needs to pay better across the board instead of having random great ones mixed in with the logistically impossible and the low paying ones.

Guess I need to get that installed on the phone just in case I decide to make a test run in the near future.
Yeah it's all there. It has two sides though. One is the driver side and the other is the carrier. The carrier aspect sort of flips you over to the web browser. I used the same email for both driver and carrier (kind of like how you had to give yourself a driver account in Keep Truckin) so the switchover is done simply by choosing the load board in the menu.

Yeah, my driver account uses the same email as my carrier account.

Yeah so on Amazon it looks weird because you have a load board menu that a driver only probably wouldn't see. I know they wouldn't see the board but my statement is assuming they wouldn't even see the menu link. You don't see the rates of assigned loads as a driver either. Only as a carrier. Being on the same email it keeps you signed in for both. If that makes sense.

Makes sense. got it installed so I could check on it for my location tomorrow morning.

If I could find a place to ditch my trailer I would probably run power only next week since I can once again only work 4 days before leaving town for another gymnastics meet.
