Self Driving Trucks Company in Trouble

Laying off half their workforce, eliminating the self driving truck testing facility. I’ve said for years this whole thing is a scam and it’s not practical and it just ain’t happening in our lifetimes. I can remember 20 years ago being told all truckers would be out of work in 10 years.

An excerpt from the Fox article …..

The company is losing money. TuSimple reported only $4.9 million in revenue and $220.5 million in losses for the first half of 2022.

A lot of the news articles add that line in there to gain the sympathy. It doesn't work on me. Like I'm supposed to feel sorry for Musk for spending $44 billion on Twatter. That was a piss poor business move to me. Live with it now. Stick with rockets and space. Not so sure about the cars either. Electric vehicles will not be the norm with no substantial grid for charging behind it all. Coal mining is big business again.

This company is taking a nose dive currently due to some bad publicity. One of their vehicles nearly crashed into a pickup truck and the company tried to hide it. Someone leaked the information, and it has been a free fall since. Not because of the near accident, but because of trying to hide it.

Self Driving trucks will NEVER become a huge mainstay in this world until its profective ! (at least 10 - 20 more years)
first off they are so ill efficient for time/energy.
Extreme weather conditions or road conditions/ roads that are not paved.
The liability they have given these not ideal paved city roads.

Imagine if a big truck did like the Tesla did and stopped in the left lane of the Interstate. It resulted in a 9 car pile-up. It had a driver in the seat and it was in the autonomous mode.

Imagine seeing an 80 thousand pound rig fly off a cliff because the GPS told it to go that way
