Rumor USA & US Xpress routing 100's of trucks to terminals for shut down

I wonder how many of these truckers that are losing their jobs said back in april they wouldn't support the shutdown because they figured thier jobs were secure and the hell with helping other truckers in trying to help fix the problems in this business.

I can remember a lot of truckers that refused to help as they had theirs and some that even went as far as to talk and act against uniting the trucking professionasl into one voice. I still remember spending a day cleaning off egg from the side of my truck because I had the audacity to speak up for the people trying to stand together to improve things. To that fool I hope you are one of the ones on the soup line now, to the rest I hope you learned that to not do anything is not the way to go we all need to hang together or we will swing separately and slowly choke on what is being done to all of us.
Well said Jammer... I knew this was going to bite alot more people in the a## that never dreamed it would impact them...

pretty sad actually. Most of it was because they simply didn't understand the severity of the issue. I just wish people would spend more time paying attention to what is really going on around them.

Might not be affecting you today, but tomorrow could be a whole new story.

I can only hope the entire Country has learned from what has happened to us all.

trust me, it is both.

financial organizations are being bailed out due to bad loans. Mistake on their part for allowing the loans, also a mistake on the consumer for getting a loan they should have known they couldn't pay for.

Flying J now bankrupt after being in debt and running independent truck stops out of business. Bad decisions by Flying J, but we never should have turned our back on the independents.

Who is the most at fault? The people at the top. But the fact remains that we as consumers are also at fault for many of these problems we now face.

Remember, it is us that votes in our Government employees. If we have somebody in there that is not doing a good job, we can only blame ourselves for electing them and try to do a better job of researching our candidates.

Yes we vote, and we vote them into power but we can't do nothing, about them being bribed, to do harm to us with their trechery and trickery, with their bad laws that give corp's the power to do what they want. IE., Glass Steagall Act was eliminated. No the only thing we can do when they turn against us is to "tar and feather them" as they use to do. Or to follow what the constitution says.

We vote them in, then they screw us over, and the next time they come up for reelection, we vote them in again, and again.

We vote them in, then they screw us over, and the next time they come up for reelection, we vote them in again, and again.

And so it goes!!!!!!

They lie.

Screw Americans and enrich corporations. :spend:

I have to say, the corporations have over thrown our government.

Here's where the buck stops. We are responsible for re-electing these fools...period. It is our fault, as a nation, for allowing these corrupt government officials to continue to thrive within our government structure. It's time to accept that responsibility and start to do something to bring an end to this bs.

And there is something which we can effectively do. It's not easy, but each and every state has a recall statute regarding elected officials...as well as impeachment processes. Get informed about your states recall and impeachment processes and spark a fire among your fellow state constituents. Our Constitution, and each state's constitution, was designed to protect our freedoms and rights. Including processes to remove corrupt representatives. It's a matter of standing up and speaking out. Fight for what's right. Take action - get involved.

Sorry for the rant, but it seemed it was needed here.

To much BS on using the system as a tool to fight. We've been doing this since citizens sided agaisnt Amnesty in 1986 but it was signed by Reagan; since we voted for prop 186 in CA ; which was over turned by the courts, to our most recent fight to fight, the Mexican invasion and a new amnesty, along with H1B visa's. Our country has been over thrown by corporations. We can try to do our duty visa via our voting power. But ultimately we have a hire "Duty" spelled out in the constitution, to defend ourselves against enemies, foreign and domestic.

Dem's fight to allow illegals and legals to flood into our country, to who's benefit. Not mine, not my family, not to you, not my kind. For who then? The corporations, republicans, who run those corporations. We are being replaced by third world people. Neither one are on our side. They are bought and paid for by the corporations who now have control of our country rather than the people, the voters. We can't even trust the vote because of manipulation and illegals voting.

My rant to your rant. ;)

Remove the corrupt representative and you effectively destroy the relationship between that rep and the corportations. Now you, we, can cry the poll is manipulated...but as it has been demonstrated several times in recent years...polls can be demanded of a re-count. Stating our system doesn't work is only an excuse. When the people actually become involved responsibly, our system is a powerful tool.

Until our nation, as a whole, accepts responsibility for the state our country is in and take action to effect change...nothing positive is truely going to be accomplished short of a revolution. It has become obvious, the corruptness within our government, and yet we do nothing, as a nation, to effectively change this problem. Why is that? And using an excuse that the corporations have taken control of our government is not exceptable. It's a cop-out...a way of rolling over...a way of giving up. That's not in my blood, and do feel it's not in yours as well. But the fact remains there is something which can be done peacefully...and pointing fingers is not it.

On a side note. I once resided in Cali and believe you do remember the recall of Gov. Davis. I was very active with that action and did much, with many others, to bring about the recall process to remove him from office. This proves my statement about using our system. And for you to refer to the immigration problem y'all allowed to occur within your state government system only proves the irresponsible nature of the constituents of Cali to allow that to occur. There are means to correct bs such as that, and y'all didn't do a thing. I reside in Texas and have no power or right to interfer in Cali's business as a state, but Cali is allowing the injection of corrupt representatives into our federal government, and it's having detrimental effects on all of us. All I need to say is Pelosi to prove that one. And this only lends creadence to my statement we need to act as one nation...as one people to effect the change we truely need.

Nothing but respect.

It seems we remove a bad rep and replace them with what we think is a good one, only to have them turn on us. A cycle of frustrating nonsense.

Remember the French Revolution

Back to the original topic for a moment. It seems that two different people have identified that USA Trucking is pulling back drivers from the field. Around 300 drivers it's said.

Point taken. And I do feel a need to express we are on the same side of the fence, and feel we're feeling the same frustration and are venting a little today.

We can effectively put the right people in. We just need to go outside of the party's we are constantly being lead to believe we should choose from. Individuals feeling the same frustrations we feel. And if enough of us throughout the states did this...we could literally take control of our Congress and put an end to these corrupt actions within our legislative branch.

Nothing but respect bro.

Good idea. We all, me included got sidetracked from the actual topic, LOL.

Thanks for bringing this topic to us, seems it definitely has some legs at this point. I hope that more USA Truck drivers show up to let us know exactly how this has affected them.

Here is another topic on USA Truck, brought to us by an owner operator yesterday. Looks like they are gettting screwed over as well. I moved it out of an old post and made it into a new thread for our "report a bad trucking company" forum.

Yep, I can remember this very clearly. I think we even had to ban one jerk that was laughing at the Owner Operators and accusing them of this all being their own fault.

Thousands of people probably singing a different tune now, several months too late.

ya i was doing the rallies i could get to a few months back. and im still rollin. those who refused or said it would do no good seem to be sitting at home with out a JOB.

Any US express drivers out there

:beep:

I was reluctant to bring this up because it was a rumor. Is there a specific place for rumor talk on this website. They can be informative, investigative, as we have found out, and a bit fun if fun is a way to describe it.

It would be nice to hear from anyone with a connection with US Express also.

this forum is just fine for posting things like this. If I see something that I feel is better suited to be in another forum, I just generally quietly move it.

:broken:part of the other issues of usa they keep turning down the trucks for the perpose so they can save fuel but partly why they have low fuel mileage is the loads of 35,000+ bog down the trucks to where they dont run right then when the drivers compalin of truck issues most dispatchers also push the drivers to get loads picked up and delivered ontime not taking the time to lsten to the diver when the trucks run like crap i also know issues with the 9400i is my bf was a company driver for a little over a year and a half before going to lease purchase so now we have a 9400i that is slowely getting the bugs out but the dispatchers dont listen to the owner ops any better when it comes from the trucks in the lease purchase program and when issues come up with the trucks some of the people in the breakdown department they try to tell the owner ops where and when they can get the trucks fixed or serviced and also try to say they dont have mney n the maintance account that the drivers set up at the time of the signing of the contracts and as the fuel prices drop so does the fuel surcharge so before going into the lease purchase or working with usa please tke what i have just written would hate to see people fall to the way side of the company

I heard the same thing yesterday.USA fired 500 drivers and Schneider and CFI is doing the same thing. Now that's just what I heard.I can't believe the trucking industry is in that bad of shape.I mean almost everything is hauled by trks.I won't get a load untill after New years. He says he has lds going out but no backhaul lds.I told him I don't care about a backhaul ld.I'll stay out till you find something.I'm home every weekend. To most that would probably be a good thing but to me I would rather stay out.You can't make any money sitting at home.So now i'm spending this hometime looking for another company.

Trucking rumors get out of hand rather quickly, so don't assume all of this is true.

the USA Truck portion sounds like it has some pretty good legs to it, but we haven't heard anything further on US Xpress. USXpress did go on a hiring freeze recently though, to prevent having to do something like this.

As for Schneider, that one would really shock me, considering I could call them today and be set up to start orientation within a week. These guys email and call me regularly, and the drivers I talk to say they are staying busy.

CFI, is now Conway. Conway Freight laid off tons of people, but I don't think it affected the truckload division.

Right now is always a tough time in the trucking industry, and it is just compounded due to the economy already being in horrible shape. On multiple occasions, I have sit with nothing to do during the week or so before Christmas and until after New Years. Many smaller factories simply shut down for two weeks during this timeframe, even in a good economy. This cuts down on truck freight. Many places are doing end of year inventory, which shuts down deliveries. There are tons of factors involved right now that slows things down. Given that the industry was already slow just makes it worse during these weeks.

Don't be too quick to jump jobs right now, because you may very well land somewhere that is worse in the long run than where you are.

to pat

this is not a rumor pat my bf drives for usa and when we went into van buren terminal on thursday so he could get his dotphysical they were sending new hires and other drivers home on the greyhound while i was doing our bedding on the truck so anything u see posted by be in reguards to us u can trust it is truth as my bf is in the lease purchase truck so please do not try to go to usa truck for this reason im being truthful bout this and if u dont believe a girlfied of one of the drivers that is out there every day with himon the road then who r u going to trust unless u go to a driver of a usa truck in a truck stop but how will u knw if that said driver knws what is going on because some of the trucks r either trainer or leased or contracted trucks the way u can tell the difference from said truck is as follows the trainer trucks have a T with three numbers the contracted trucks with C and 3 numbers and so forth s if u feel u r not trusting what im saying please ask one of the other drivers u see from usa im not trying to b rude im just making my point clear i apologize in advance

freightmaster, i think your video would be better posted in it's own thread instead of here on the rumors about usxpress and usa truck.

I was at the Dayton Bus station the other day and did not meet one driver who was either going to or leaving usxpress. Usually there are about 6-8 of them hanging out at the greydog.
