Registration is now open for the congressionally mandated Commercial Driver’s License Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Commercial driver’s license holders, employers, medical review officers, and substance abuse professionals can now visit this website and register to create a secure online user account, according to a news release from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

The clearinghouse is intended to be a secure online database allowing FMCSA, commercial motor vehicle employers, state driver licensing agencies, and law enforcement officials to quickly identify CDL drivers who have violated federal drug and alcohol testing program requirements.

Maybe this will tell you.
Ugh, more reading. 🙄 TMC ain’t told me I had to do it. They think I needed to take an not required trucking agains trafficking class on line. Lame. I’ll have to get back to this later and read up. Thanks mike.

That TAT class was mandated for me in Arkansas to renew or modify my license. Not sure how many states are requiring it now.

As far as I’m told by the company Arkansas is the only one requiring it at this time...apparently Arkansas has a lot of predators? Or trafficking is a bigger problem there? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well, might have to do with West Memphis. Pretty big hub there for all things related to Drugs and Prostitution.

Looks like it's more for employers. We don't have to register as individuals because we're not gonna enter dirt on ourselves. Cops will do that for us when we get busted.

Technically you're considered a potential employer or maybe Arkansas thinks you are one, Mike. That's probably why they said you have to register.

BTW it says you CAN register, not that you HAVE to. When it uses the word "must register" it's only in the context of accessing the site.

IOW if you're a driver who doesn't give a sh*t you can ignore the whole thing.

Basically you're not required to use the site but if you want to, you have to register to do so. It's like signing up for members only porn.

It's not West Virginia, but Arkansas is pretty close...

The TAT class is for all CDL holders in Arkansas. Cannot renew or modify your license without it.
Any idea on how this will work for Canadian cross border drivers?

Not that I have to worry I don't cross the border but it might be helpful for other drivers out there.

The TAT thing, or the clearinghouse that the article is about?

Both actually.

TAT is just pushing states to require truck drivers to take the class. Much of this is done at the company level (Schneider forced the class on me as well).

Don’t know if the drug clearinghouse will have any influence on Canadian drivers or not. Probably not.
