...I'd avoided these for years when they were called Burton stoves, and avoided them again when RoadPro took them over but with Pilot running double points for two months I figured I could get one for the just-right price of NOTHING so I did.

Does good so far, but all I've done so far is turkey sausages. I'll probably get more creative as time goes on.

Anyone else got one?

Like it? No? Why?

I have one of those things, ... somewhere. I mighta gave it away, I'm not sure. I haven't seen it in a long time but I don't recall getting rid of it.

The things are great, .... but that's a matter of perception.

If you can handle driving your truck for hours & hours & hours & hours & hours while smelling something really good slowly heating up in there, without going insane wanting to pull over & eat it when it's still got 80 hours left to cook, then it's for you.

Not me though. I don't even think about eating until I'm hungry, and by then I want to eat NOW.

I am on my third Lunch box oven. Not even kidding every time I was in line to pay for it, Somebody in the line tells me how good they are and all the different things they make in them. Even the guy that was training me on flat bed was telling me how good they are.

I wore the last one out after about 2+ years of excellent, Affordable hot meals. I even had it in the truck when I had a microwave. A microwave does not do chicken and steaks the way that little oven does. You don't even need a knife. I had an entire thread on the things I have made in the little oven. I lost about 40lbs cooking my food. It does very well with veggies too.

I used to get the oven started when I stopped for the night. Then do up my paperwork and look over my route and all that. It takes me a bit of time to unwind. then my meal was ready. It only takes about a half hour to an hour depending on what you make.

What happened to that thread, anyway?

If I was doing a meat and potatoes type deal. I would use canned potatoes. They keep for a long time and they are already peeled and sliced, if you want sliced. You can get whole or cubed, Cubed are good if you want mashed.

I've had one of those for years.
I used to pull into a HY-VEE (regional supermarket chain) where they had London broils for pretty cheap in two-packs.
Grab a couple of bakers from the bin...
a can of veggies if you want.
Great meal for the price of value menu garbage. :)

My daughter -in-law does a bicycling benefit (Katy Trail) for MDA and I drove the SAG wagon year before last.
I made foil dinners like are normally done in camp fire coals for her and a pal of hers one day.
Jessa went on about those silly dinners for the rest of the trip. :D
And she talked about it so much that Kori bought her a Burton for Christmas last year.

Jessa said she was gonna make her Thanksgiving dinner in it this year. :stare1:
:D
