Ellenwood, Georgia-based trucking company Ready Trucking will be closed for good as of Friday, August 30, according to an employee CDLLife spoke with on the phone.

The news of the closure was also confirmed by the company’s Google listing. Ready Trucking employs 91 drivers and operates 103 power units.

The company was founded in 1968 and was a second generation family run business, according to their website.

Overexpansion and poor management of it, methinks.

We're kind of experiencing it too. Spreading us thin. People quitting out of frustration and self-correcting (hopefully).

Seriously.

More loads now than last year. Rates are at a historic high if you just take out 2018.

It’s not the economy that is causing this.
So the fact that manufacturing is down means nothing to you? By the way, wherever you're getting your trucking rate info from is full of it. Historic highs was LAST YEAR. DAT has been show this year's mediocre rates slipping all month.

And I repeat, take 2018 out of the mix, when everyone was scrambling to adjust to the ELD, 2019 rates are historically high. The numbers don’t lie.

21000 new trucking companies created from June 2018 through July of 2019. This is a key factor in trucking companies struggling right now. More freight, but far more trucks to move that freight.

Many companies expanded prematurely and/or increased pay/benefits to drivers, largely based on what they mistakenly felt was going to be the "new normal" back in 2018. That term "new normal" was very popular when talking about rates last year.
