Greetings! I am currently working on getting my class b CDL. I am feeling pretty good about the training I have gotten so far, but have a few questions. I have watched several instruction videos on youtube and have read several different manuals/checklists. When it comes to certain things, different people say different things, or have a different approach. My questions are the following:
1. Are you required to chock your tires before/during the air brake test and before actually performing the tug test and service brake test? I have seen two different methods.
2. While performing the air brake test, are you required to release the air brakes and wait one minute (and verify that 2 psi isn't lost) before proceeding to applying the service brakes and waiting one minute to verify 3 psi is not lost? I have seen some instruction videos do this, but most do not.
3. After the air brake test is performed and air pressure is building to 120 psi, is it required to check and verify that the air pressure goes from 85 to 100 psi in 45 seconds?
I just want to make sure I have everything squared away before my test. Thanks for the help!
