Posts about nothing!

about ohhh, maybe 3 years ago, i got mom/dad a couple of house plants, "Fittonia" is the variety.
one is dying off, but i think i am saving it, the other is doing as well as can be.

so what i did, was a trick, i earned from watching Rachel Ray, a cooking show of all places to learn something

i watered the plants for mom, as usual. i told her i will take care of HER plants, as she either forgets to water them, or over waters. i told her one time, "you could kill artificial flowers"....

either way, my mother tends to throw away ANY plant or flower that seems to be only in need of a bit of water, rather than try to rescue them....

so what i learned by watching Rachel, is "cover the plant with a plastic bag, this (as you will see in the picture) creates humidity, which helps in the plants survival...

here right now, we have dry air, certainly not good for tropical plants, such as the 2 varieties of Fittonia i got her.
Fittonia.....Fittonia - Wikipedia

Rachel was actually covering her freshly bought basil, she puts it into a glass filled with water and covered with a plastic bag, the plant keeps growing, and she always has fresh basil....

here is a pic, of the plants and you can see the "humidity"

and here is a pic, with the plastic off, the pot on the right, is the one that has been dying off......

now, the small orange pot, has 6 seedlings, of some type of flowering bush, that i got the seeds from the barbershop's garden. i do not know the color of what will grow, but there are white and purple flowers that bud..personally, i like the white.

also, i should point out, these flower pots are directly near a VERY drafty window, not really the best place for a tropical plant or any plant to be, and knowing my mother, she would have really liked them...in the garbage........

but I KEEP THEM, in HER apartment, to not only annoy her, but to give me a MUCH NEEDED excuse to go down stairs and check on her...and the gas stove.......

you ever do/did anything like this..???? (the flowers that is)
Back in the day my buddy used to live across the hall, We nicknamed him Kramer because he would just walk in open the fridge and say whatcha got to eat? Or grab himself a beer.
Anyway he left me his key to water his plants. I forgo all about it and I forgot he was even gone.
He came home and all the plants were dead. Somehow I feel partially responsible.:D

When I was a kid a neighbor was going to pay me $80 to get his mail and mow his lawn while he was out of town for a month.

I completely forgot about it and he got home, the mailbox was full and the lawn looked like the Amazon.

I didn't get the $80. :toothpick:

Stevia.

Supposedly a natural sugar replacement that isn't "known to the state of California to" blah blah blah...

Never tried it.

Sarah did and says it's gross.

:dunno:

It does sweeten stuff, but has a bitter aftertaste.

I like it better than Splenda or NutriSweet. Try Truvia... its a stevia brand sold at Walmart.

splenda is made from suralose
Twenty years of follow-up research have shown sucralose to be safe for humans to consume and there don't appear to be any problems with short term or long term use. Sucralose doesn't seem to interact with other foods or medications.

Equal is made in Manteno, IL right next door to the Swift terminal. I wonder if they have a mega contract with them. They've gotta be light loads.

well it was "reported" this Diva put up a squawk if she didn't get this.....

frankly, to me, she is chubby, and should be on weight watchers....the fat, biotch...

Kate Upton three-peats as SI's swimsuit queen

"One model who may or may not be in the magazine is Kate Upton — who, says the New York Post, is acting like a big diva and may be booted."
