drop it off in Iraq, it'll get sand blasted for free.

did you buy it from a rental company..???

that's how i actually got my appliance 2 wheeler, then i resold that for about $10 over what i paid...
I grabbed it off a random guy who had it on Craigslist for cheap. It was something like $450 with two new spare tires on rims. I drove an hour and a half to get it because everyone else wanted 600+ for worse no name or hand made janky ones. It's all cosmetic rust.

every once in a while, the rental companies here have equipment auctions, that's why i asked.

I did upgrade it with some LEDs and wired up a 4 way plug to the fender for magnetic lights. Saves me the nuisance of dealing with a splitter at my truck and running the wires all the way up the towed vehicle.

I also had a custom winch bracket made that allows me to remove the winch in seconds.

my '04 ranger had a trailer plug. i think they all do now..??? you have an older than '04 truck..???

i was wondering, on many car tv shows i watch, the shops use powder coating, rather than painting....you ever gave that a thought.????

I'm sure ours do as well. I don't pay much attention though as it's mostly high dollar equipment. People around here either own their own dolly or rent a U-Haul. I didn't want a U-Haul even if they had one for sale. It's amazing how many people just own a dolly. Or small car hauler.

Hell my dad has one too.

The dolly itself occupies the trucks 4-way. So I'd have to use a splitter.

My new truck has both a 7 and a 4 integrated but the dolly would still occupy the 4 unless I used the adapter. And I didn't have this truck at that time.

And for the record, the original tow vehicle was my 1998 Navigator. It has a factory 7 way. So I used a 7 to 4 torpedo adapter for the dolly lights. This fender plug just lets me hook the magnetics easier. That's all it's for.

oh, ok..i got it differently. the magnetics are for the towed vehicle....

I don't think I have even 500 miles on it though. It doesn't get pulled behind an RV or anything. Furthest was when I first got it (empty) and then when I rescued my S-10 from an icy driveway.

I have yet to do anything. I probably should by now though. Derp. [emoji16]
i had a buddy, that had many boats over the years. now i know boat trailers, end up into the lake or salt water.

he'd remove the wheel bearings each year, cleaned, repacked, and new seals. i know, i had sold him a can of wheel bearing grease from my parts supplier, cheaper than if he went there to buy it himself.

I do have some high dollar synthetic stuff from when I replaced the S-10 front bearings. Probably wouldn't hurt for me to hit the dolly with some fresh. It's never been submerged under my ownership. And I did check it when I got it now that I'm thinking. I went over the whole thing before using it. Replaced the skid pad grease too.
