Post retirement

Been seeing a fair number of older truckers. Is there an upper age limit. Do those who retire see trucking as a new career?

Sir, when I retire, I hope to never have to drive one again. A lot of us old dudes are here because no one else wants us. Not much changes in trucking but the name on the shirt and the name on the door.

Not sure of age limits. I've heard companies say, if you can pass the physical, you can work.

screw the physical, just have a heartbeat.

Thanks for responding. I'm probably going to do this so any suggestions y'all have will be appreciated. Try not to comment on my insanity if you please. I know for some of you it's a compulsion. :)

coming here, is the first step to admit to your problem, and recovery from being insane. staying here, proves your fuck ing nuttier than a squirrel dancing in the middle of the street.

I am not a trucker.....but if driving truck makes you happy and it what you want to do go for it......

This is what I dream of on miserable winter days, Sitting by the fire sipping bourbon.
I worked over half of my lifetime....in the working field. When I decided to retire....I almost drove myself stir nuts trying to stay busy. Checks were rolling in...I had to reprogram my lifestyle to fit retirement.....looking back with no regrets.

only if you consider sitting in the reclining chair, sipping a beer, looking out the window on a nasty weather day, watching all the suckers going to work, and complaining about their life, their job, their family..then yeah, it could be like death...but what a way to go
I tried that once... retirement is slowly waiting for death to visit.
