Considering everyone was upside down, they got them out insanely fast.
I listened to a news broadcast asking about the possibility of using an inflatable slide. I literally laughed out loud as the plane was upside down!

The crew did a good job deactivating the slide that would have hindered the evacuation.
There is a bar that goes across the bottom of the door and when that bar is in place and the door is opened the slide will deploy.
When servicing the aircraft say like catering. In the door window there will be red flag or ribbon type thing, that tells you not to open the door because the slide will deploy and probably kill you.
Procedure is to knock on the door and one of the crew will remove that bar and the red flag and then the door is safe to open.

Many people think that flight attendants are there to serve meals and drinks.
They are there for safety. They train on flight safety and evacuation, part of their training is going down the slide.
You should listen to the pre-flight instructions and when they tell you to put your seatbelt on, you should do it!

I forgot to add if there is no crew onboard and there is no flag in the window there is still a way to check if it is safe to open the door. If you turn the door handle slightly there is a panel at the bottom of the door that will open first before the door opens. You can tell looking under there if the slide is armed.

When I was a kid, two Federal Express cargo jets performed at an air show at Greater Kankakee Airport.
They were doing most of the same stunts the regular planes were doing, including low passes over the runway while upside down.
And it was f*n loud too.

I am assuming those were like MD11's or plane that size. I see FedEx use a lot of MD11s. It would be cool to see a plane that size doing those stunts.When I was a kid, two Federal Express cargo jets performed at an air show at Greater Kankakee Airport.

The coolest thing I saw was an American fighter jet do a wingtip salute all the way down the taxiway line at terminal 2 in Toronto. Wing tip was probably 30ft from the ground, we could see the pilot clearly, he was giving the thumbs up. We all went nuts! We hand both hands in the air giving the thumbs up.
I am not sure how he got clearance to do that but ATC and Apron control tend to give them a lot of leeway during the airshow.
People used to line up near the runway by the road to see the Concord land and take off. That was pretty loud and a lot of "jet black" exhaust.
I only ever remember seeing the British Airways Concord come in and only during the summer.
I did see it up close on the ramp.

This was in the late 80's when they were Federal Express.
All I remember was they were big cargo jets but they were not 747's, they didn't have the camel hump on top.
As a child, that was about the extent of my aircraft identification skills.
