Pilot Flying J wants input on parking directly from drivers

Pulled into a steel mill. Big sign out front, park here, go to channel 14, ask the guard when to go down to sign in. Boots, long pants, hard hat and vest on at all times. Cool get changed, key up and guard says to come sign in.
Douche-canoe behind me doesn't have a CB, and follows me in flip flops, board shorts and a wife beater. I thought the guard was gonna pop a vein he was madder than a wet hen
I cannot for the life of me understand the companies that don't supply or allow a CB

I've never pulled a reefer but I reckon it's a different game than I'm used to.
Ten years ago not having a CB was a problem. Today, almost everyone has a cell phone. I don't know of any carrier prohibiting CBs down here, but I see many new trucks without factory antenna mounts.

:dunno:

Had another flatbedder tell me to go to channel 4 with his fingers and some sign language. He told me I had a loose strap. It was a bit odd but still nice of him to let me know

I don't understand people who don't run with a CB

When you go places like steel mills, mines, bush roads, or run with a pilot it can be a bit of a problem.
I wouldn't jump on a soap box and say everything is screwed without them but they definitely still have a place.

Probably more to do with the industry segment... and a generational shift. The CB deal started in the 70's - many of those folks are retiring...

There's no doubt about that. I see folks my age and younger and a lot of them make me wonder how they've managed to dodge a coat hanger for nine consecutive months much less survive as long as they have after that.
