I recently discovered there's a Hardee's in Wilmington at a new Loves.
Hardee's used to be everywhere around here back in the 80's but then they all closed.

We have a place like that here. I'm really not a pizza eater, mainly because I haven't eaten one that I liked. One day I was fueling up the Pete at a Marathon station. While standing there for 20 minutes fueling, the smell became overwhelming. I went in and in the back of the store was a pizza joint with a couple of people and an oven.
As I stood there obviously drooling, dude offered me a slice, no charge. I had him make me one to go. We've been their customers now for going on 9 years. My wife is a pizza hound and I'll even heat half a large pie. They now have 6 stores growing one at a time. At least 12 pizzas a year all over 1 free slice.
Pozzy Bros. Pizza. Cocoa, Merritt Island, Rockledge and Melbourne.
As I stood there obviously drooling, dude offered me a slice, no charge. I had him make me one to go. We've been their customers now for going on 9 years. My wife is a pizza hound and I'll even heat half a large pie. They now have 6 stores growing one at a time. At least 12 pizzas a year all over 1 free slice.

Hardee's seems to be a truck stop chain and there are quite a few stand alone stores in the rural ares of Florida. They never made it with the city slickers.

Yeah I remember that.
Long before we moved to this area, the current Wendy's next to the interstate was a Hardee's.
When the Hardee's closed, an old granny who used to work there copied the recipe and started working in the deli at the Berkots grocery store, which was called something else back then.
Suddenly the grocery store became where everyone in town got their fried chicken from.
Today the fried chicken there, IMO is mediocre but all the older folks in town still think it's the best around.
That old granny is an even older old granny now and still works there, occasionally. She's gotta be like 100 years old. They say she won't let anyone else pull apart the unsold rotisserie chickens and she gets mad if someone else does it on her many health-related days off.

In the western states I seen alotta Hardees or Pacific Coast called "Carls Jr." which is same thing different name on west coast
Rockton Illinois tollway about Wisconsin Stateline that Loves had a Hardees in it when I was driving for Central Refrigerated outta Rochelle yard that was one of our Fuel Stops

I havent seen the Fried Chicken in 25 years but the Truckstop ones usually have the condensed menu unlike a stand-alone Hardees that has everything.
I have had the Chicken Tenders dinner at a Loves location and it was pretty good nice size pieces crispy and juicy

For the past few weeks, my local Casey's has had a 25-30 yr old woman with downs syndrome working as a cashier.
Totally blank facial expressions, introverted, barely audible speech. Has to get on the phone & call someone if anything the slightest bit unusual happens like a customer wants to use a coupon or something..
Except tonight.
The BDR (big dumb redhead guy) who fucks up nearly every pizza order walked up & started talking to the 3 of us as he was pushing a trash can towards the doors.
For some reason he thought it was important to stop & tell us that even though they don't close for another hour, he decided to shut down the kitchen equipment for the night and then a few minutes later someone placed a pizza order.
As soon as he was out the door headed towards the dumpster, downs syndrome girl said "dumbass"
That was probably the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.
Downs syndrome girl is now my favorite Casey's employee. Definitely a keeper

. Good for her! That is why she is on the cash, and dumbass is on the trash.

Here its more Foreigners & "Illegals" work most the fast food joints cashier needs manager translate my order in english to spanish...
If ordering off the board iI do the value meal number and point to the picture on the sign and they understand that hit a button or 2 on the cash register swipe my credit card
