oil pressure problems

I`ll have to check and see where I can put one
my filter is passenger side between frame and engine and hard to get too, especially the top

mine looks like this 3406E

On my Detroit, it was originally in a galley port off the block behind the air compressor. Just a dead line for a sample port.

I went to the same port and just added the bypass filter is all.

I`ll look around and see what I can find. There has to be a better place than around my oil filter.I guess it just needs to be hooked into a oil line somewhere

I sent in a SOS oil sample last week to CAT,they got it on July 5th
they said maybe 2 weeks and I should get the results in a email

I can mail mine on Thursday, will have email with the results on the following Monday or Tuesday.

If I mail on Monday/Tuesday, I'll have the results by Friday for the weekend .

I have had the chance but i haven`t done it
to be honest about it
did you use a hacksaw, sawzall or something else?

more blowby
slightly higher engine temps 10-15 degrees
uses or burns (internally??) 1 gal of oil every 800 miles
oil is coal black shortly after changing
seems to have a little lack of power when loaded
no blue or white smoke from the stacks

so,with that said,I am suspecting maybe a bad injector o ring letting a little fuel into the oil, lowering the viscosity of the oil, causing it,the thinner oil, to burn off inside the motor,
causing the increase in blowby, and added oil consumption and black oil,and a tad loss of power

just a theory

I am about ready to drop it off at CAT and have them do a inframe on it,increase the HP from 475 to 550,speed it up from 68 to 99 like my buddy Rick did

Antonio had a 98 Freightliner he said I could use
it`s getting closer every day

I am planning on it

I usualy get the oil computer anazlized, about once or twice a year but never used CAT

The benchtop analysis really isn't accurate for a number of reasons. If you're going to spend money on it, a full service lab that uses serious analytic equipment operated by trained technicians is the way to go. I pull a sample every 25,000 miles.

I attached cat oil results in a pdf file, maybe someone here can help me interpret them?
they don`t tell me much but water, fuel and antifreeze are not in oil, guess thats a good thing

It's not showing any trace metals.

Means it's even more critical to cut open a filter now and look for flakes.
