Hello to all that are new to trucking, we have all been there.
Though I'd like to say " Don't settle for that company "
Granted this is mostly a OTR website, I've never been OTR ( Thank God ! )
Don't think OTR will be the only companies that will hire you w/o driving experience.

That is 100% false !

Do your homework, companies will hire you with no experience ! And local to your location.
So don't be fooled with these stupid OTR companies that prey upon new drivers.
IMO if you don't want to be a chump, stay far away from OTR !

There are plenty of companies that will hire people with zero experience out of CDL school, since they are in the need of people !
And if you have the CDL ... congratulations you have the job !

Local dude here. No way I could ever do the road again. I did it for 3 years as an O/O and came right back to hauling fuel with the truck. That didn't last. A 300" WB truck doesn't get in and out of stop-N-robs very easily.

It had lines when I started there. The paint got worn away from parking on the lines.
There are also line in the concrete where they cut it for expansion. I see drivers well over the straight concrete line get out and actually walk to the back of the trailer to see if it is straight. Umm, buddy, you are so far over the concrete there is no doubt you are not straight. No need to look at the dock to figure it out.

My favorites are the ones with the lines on both sides exactly where your tire bulge is. No room for error or doubt.

I hate the ones with only one line. Especially when you're ACTUALLY supposed to be like 6 inches off of it. Like wtf kinda reference is that nonsense.

I also suck at squaring up when there are no lines at all. I might hit the door but there will probably be 3 feet of gap on the passenger side when my driver side touches. That's when I drop my trailer across 8 doors that can only be unblocked by RJ docking my trailer while I bobtail to Tim Hortons.

That happens sometimes in the LTL biz if you get to daydreamin and not payin attention, especially if you got multiple customers who get product from the same shipper

I don't run LTL but I can see that. Especially if you usually hit a place and skip just that day reickups.
