Nestle needs carriers, quote your regular rates...

Nestle needs carriers for over 1,000 loads of bottled water each day. Looks like daily freight and you get to quote your own rates. Go to http://www.clickloads.com and pick the lanes you want.

It's refreshing to see someone ASK for rates instead of TELLING everyone what the rate is.

Not sure I share the sentiment -- I think this a way to find the cheapest rate possible, it opens the door to low balling. Getting public bids, will even more commoditize the business.

Got a couple of brokers that do this kind of thing. It can make thongs hit or miss.

The way I see it, someone is always looking for the lowest rate to pay. And they will always find it. When they get my service, it's "oh wow, we never get anyone early..." And then " oh, they got it for cheaper."

3 months later they call you back for the same service at the lower rate.

Sorry. Choke on the poor service cheap carrier. You bought it, you live with it.

It's called "Shopping Around." I do it all the time. Why would I pay $3.58/gallon for diesel in Pasco if I can make it to Post Falls and pay $2.99? Shippers are allowed to do the same thing.

I think it's a great idea. Truck owners who keep fussing about not getting fair rates can tell the shipper what they think they're worth. Then, it's up to the shipper to agree or disagree by using or not using the carrier.

You bitxh about the rates offered by shippers and brokers, then you bitch about shippers who ask you to offer your rate and if the guv'mint steps in and sets a rate, you'll bitch about that, too. You just won't ever be satisfied.

Last time I loaded nestle water into my wagon it cost me 4 hours of....wait.

The local guy that pulled in and docked beside me was loaded and gone in 30 minutes.

Pass.

We haul lots of these load. By we, I mean other people who drive for us, not Radiant Fire!

I occasionally will hook on to one of these extremely heavy, sometimes overweight and underpaid loads, but not very often.

We started doing some of the Nestle loads going up north in Ontario. i can tell you they pay very well. They where willing to pay enough to deliver and return empty and still make good money.
As far as loading went, I was there for an hour from the time I bumped the dock to the time I outgated. What makes it more impressive is.... It was not the Standard 24 pallets, It was 29 pallets. Just under 60,000LBS.

From what I understand, it's bottled water and they are gearing up for busy season in the spring when shipping goes crazy. They are sent an email every time you quote a rate and they can either accept or deny that "Live Quote". at that moment for a live load that's available. They are not hoarding rates and looking for the cheapest guy, at least not in the next 24 months, it's all "live" with a "take it or leave it rate" from the carrier. When you need to move 1,000 loads a day in this market, I think they are realizing that now is not the time to play the rate game.

It is unfortunate that the board only shows loads in the U.S. Oh well.

Ive delivered plastic to them at @ Fogelsville PA..I can tell you..when they get busy..You can make a boat load of cash..
They have to have the plastic..and are willing to pay for it..
Sometimes they have trouble with the inbound scheduling..(you get there and the silo is full)
$36.50 an hour to sit and wait....sometimes 12-18 hours..I always keep my fridge full when hauling for them..

"a service provided by RTS". AKA Rehmann Transportation Corp. I went and started to check out the link provided.

And yes, I HAVE hauled for them out of St Louis to IA for them last November. They've got some big contracts. I wanted a round that went out and back as it was my first week back on the road after my clutch work.

Time to pay is 35+ days. I can't say the rates were too bad. Would I haul for them again? Sure, for the right money. Quickpay is 4%. And I can't say it was really quick. It still took 3 weeks. (No, I was not happy with that turn around.)
