Leg cramps

Little hurts need lots of care

:):):) Been reading about leg cramps and back problems - here are a couple of free hints I paid big money to get...but what are friends for right?

Muscle cramps: buy a bottle of calcium-magnessium tabs 500 mg, and eat a banana as often as you can. Should keep it in check. Soligar is a good inexpensive brand, get them online or in a health food store - about $6.00 for a small bottle, may be all you need till you need to suppliment yourself again.

Low back problems - get a stretching dvd or a pilates dvd and stretch each nite. Does more good than resting, cause you generally rest on what hurts. You get to be your own healer this way - you'll feel young too.

And remember to wear your sunglasses so you don't develop catarats later in life.
Now, you have a deadline to meet, drive safe :)

Yeah, no kidding. They walk over to you, without a menu, and ask if you "need" a menu.

Well, I am supposed to be at a restaurant, I thought getting a menu was a given!

Yeh, I've seen that happen. I don't eat very often at a buffet. I used to set those carts up and let me tell you, the things I've been told to do rather than throw the food out (when it definitely needs to be thrown) is downright disgusting!

Do you often get leg cramps after driving for long periods of time?
Oh sure i do, but it just comes with the job in my opinion. what helps is walk as much as you can and when you pull in for something to eat or fuel up try and walk around there if your at all able to.

use to get em bad when i lay down at end of day, potasium one cause but i got enough of that, whats normally overlooked is magnesium, found out excess potasium lowers mag. and same thing happens. I take one mag pill if they start and im good for a week. keep vit. e with u too. its another cause of cramps. I havent gotten em last few months. I eat one banana every day and take mag and e about once every couple days.

many of you have stated eating right (or better), and getting some walk time in, which these do help. many years ago i was told by my doctors to take a multi-vitamin daily. my most recent exam, my doctor told me to start taking a B-12 vitamin 1,000 mg's, as well. i have found that this B-12 vitamin makes me more energetic through the day. read the linkmi provide you if you wish. i do not say that everyone needs B-12, or even a regular multi-vitamin, but the way we eat (or lack of it) and the little excersise we get, vitamins certainly cannot harm us.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency

i should point out too that B-12 has been in some way linked to stave-off Alhziemer's in people that are at risk, like through genetics. not a cure, just holds it back longer, or something like that, this my doctor was trying to explain to me. as Alhziemers runs in my family.

Alhziemers runs in my family.

Well, now it comes out.:bounce:

Just picking on you pro1driver!

I have an uncontrollable shake in my hands sometimes. Sometimes it is worse than other times.
I was taking B-12 for this, and I did see a slight difference, but not enough to say that the B-12 helped. As I have not taken it for sometime, but I will say when I was taking it, I did feel like I was more energetic. I most likely will get back on it again in the near future.
