Kenworth announced that it will offer the new 15-inch digital sisplay system as standard equipment on Kenworth T880 and W990 models. The digital display is already standard on the recently launched on the T680 Next Generation.

Kenworth’s digital display provides customization and is adjustable to enable drivers to match their preferences, while also automatically displaying critical content. The display resulted from countless hours of driver observation, user testing, iterative prototyping and meticulous design work to create this advanced user experience, Kenworth officials said in a press release.

The digital display allows viewing selection between two minimized views, a basic view, maximized view and a driver customizable ‘favorites view.’ Drivers can scroll up and down using the standard Kenworth Next Gen SmartWheel, which also puts cruise control and radio functions at the driver’s fingertips.

I like my digital dash. For me, though, it doesn't go far enough. Not sure, but that may be because I didn't really understand what digital dash options were available so I didn't ask for anything extra. I have access to a select number of gauges (axle temps, transmisison temp, boost, etc..) but I wish I had more there. I would like to see as many as possible, actually. Probably buy another scan gauge and mount it for this purpose, though.

I like gauges, gauges are cool. I need something to look at other than videos while driving.

The ones in Pumpky's P4s were underwhelming, IMHO.

Don't know if you have the exact same one or not as far as functionality goes. But I can agree with you if you do.

It's a good effort considering they were probably developing these 3-4 years ago if not longer.

In my Cascadia, three gauges show at a time and you can click through the sets of three. Axle temps, air pressure and air application gauges are also physically there, so no need to look at any of that via the virtual gauges. I don't have EGT available, which would be nice. That said, with the computer controlling everything so well these days, there is no requirement on my part to really need to monitor it in terms of climbing, as the ECM will make the needed changes to keep things cool on it's own. I'm still not completely trusting that, but I'm getting better.

But I like analog gauges and switches/ buttons on the dash.

More gauges and switches please. The more the better,Hell even add a few gauges and switches that don't actually do anything. :thumbsup:

Eww I think I’ll stick with my 18 individual gauges and dumb steering wheel.

I get it, I really do. That was the small part of me considering going with something other than a Cascadia. With fuel economy and longevity in mind, I felt like I needed to stick with Detroit. Western Star was still an option at that point, and I finally struggled away from it in the end due to equipment cost and aerodynamics.

I miss the dash full of gauges, though.

I have like 6 holes left I could put switches in and I think 4 blanks for gauges.

I don't know what I'd use them for though. I'm not really into chicken lights.

I used the OE fog light switch for my mirror heat since they're long gone. Maybe I'll put some on someday and get another one for the mirrors.

With analog gauges it is a quick glance at the gauge and then back to eyes on the road.

Honestly, with all the controls on the steering wheel, it seems to be less distracting than having to look over at the middle of the dash. That's been my experience, anyway.

Even with a dash full of gauges, I still used my scangauge mounted right in front of me for easier viewing of what I wanted to see most while driving.
