Navistar is recalling thousands of International trucks regarding an issue with backup lights.

More than 4,000 International truck models LT and RH, model year 2019, are part of the recall. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents, the LED backup lights are the incorrect color white. As such, these lights fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Wow that is amazing the wrong color of white. I would have thought back up lights would be considered off-road lighting like work lights.

If they wanted to be picky they should have ruled that work lights should not be allowed to be wired to back up lights. IMO

Strange that backup light color could be an increased cause of a crash.

Back in the day, the DT466 was damned near bulletproof. Like everything else, parts were sourced from the cheapest places for the whole truck, including the people that put them together.

The V8 cornbinder in my pickup is okay but that's from a different era.

It's like saying Freightliner is awesome because they bought the Ford truck line and revived the Sterling nameplate.

It's not the same people with the same thinking.
