LITTLE ROCK — Crews performing pavement repairs on Interstate 40 in West Memphis, Ark., will require a lane closure next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The improvements will require a single lane closure of the outside eastbound lane beginning Monday, October 3 at 7:00 a.m. and continuing through the afternoon of Thursday, October 6.

Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.

There's talk of them building a third bridge over the Mississippi to take you around Memphis to 40-E (edit from west) and taking it all the way to 55-N. For now it's just hearsay, but we can cross our fingers. Memphis being the transportation mecca that it is, it's a distinct possibility.

Or they can do what Detroit did to deal with their rush hour traffic, ship all their jobs overseas. On I-75, I haven't hit a non accident back up in a while. I-94 is a little different.
