I’ve been looking at keep truckin load board and I’m seeing a lot of jb hunt loads that are posted at like 1-1.2 dollars a mile for owner operators. Does anyone actually take loads that are that cheap? Are they paying fuel on top of that? Am I missing something...

I mean they believed that a thousand dollar a week payment is a good idea so they can probably be talked into those rates too.

Yeah, those are “book it now rates”. If you click on the load, it takes you to the load and you can bid whatever you want.

JB Hunt never has a good rate posted unless they are in the final hour of having to move the load. They will, however, agree to competitive rate offers.

I suppose if one is trying to get home or to a better lane they might take it that cheap I guess.

As "others" have stated here when it's critical and needs to get out the door soon they'll start actually paying .

It's just like Convoy or the book now postings on DAT or any other load board. The rate posted in a book it now is almost always below maket. If they posted them at market rate, then the offers would all come in way over market.

They want to move the load as profitable as possible. A carrier wants to move the load as profitable as possible. Each side plays their own version of the game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Yeah, it'll be schedule in route, and not only negotiating pickup but increase on rate as well.

The receiver has a temp recorder he wants put in the load too. So you may want to run it on continuous too.
