Hoods n stacks, chicken lights n frame, cool guy trucks rule

me too.
there is a place 30 miles away they paints the trucks, frame, and motors
the trucks look great in pics but inside they are worn out and don`t look so good
especially with oil dripping down on the new engine paint
That’s any dealership. Our sales guys at Freightliner would rattlecan the rust on the frames and repaint steel wheels white the same way.

Apparently so are people who have no clue how to value a truck.
The marketplace determines pricing and value...anyone's opinion is meaningless in that regard.
The marketplace (and regulations and dollar value determined by available dollars this week) determines pricing and value...anyone's opinion is meaningless in that regard.

Fixed it for you

Wait. This is doubletalk.

You can't simultaneously say people don't know how to value a truck AND that the marketplace determines pricing. People ARE the marketplace.

I mean I've sold some stuff for more than MOST people thought it was worth. I just had to be patient. The "market" actually valued it lower.

I could of bought a 04 long nose from TMC with Platinum overhaul, and reman trans for 45. I think 70k is too much for a truck that old. I understand your market in the used truck business is what people are willing to pay. But I worked on the damn things for close to 20 years and there is no way in hell im paying 70k for a 1.5 million mile truck that has a gold overhaul. The warranty will be up in that engine in the first 6 months I own it. Then there’s no guarantee on anything else used truck as is. Screw that. People who fall for deals like that are the same people who think that chain letter is gonna make em rich. Then the others willing to make that deal make it, because that’s what they want and what they are looking for and they don’t care what it costs. I’m neither. I would spend some coin on a restored cabover if documentation supported what was done to it.

It's literally buying beauty. Which any mechanic or mechanically inclined person knows not to to do. Because derrr looks don't make you go.

Chrome don’t get ya home. But it makes ya look pretty when you’re broke down on the side of the highway.

I’m still young and have pride in my ride.
Maybe when I’m old and my give a dam is broke I’ll drive a POS droop nose aero.
Until that time chicken lights and stainless steel are important

:biggrin-2:

Now I am the type of guy that thinks all trucks should have two chrome stacks, chrome bumper, mudflap hangers, and polished wheels and tanks. While my nose might be sloped. I do take pride in this shit even though I don’t own it. I’m one of a few drivers who gets out on the weekends and wipes down my stainless with glass cleaner and if the beacon didn’t ruin my polish I’ll touch up the wheels. But I don’t need a show truck to go to work. I want a truck equivalent to the cute chubby girl from Huddle House. Everyone likes to look at her, she ain’t gonna win a beauty contest but, mother fucker she’s coming home with me. Be jealous! 😝

Not me I'll take the meth addict across the tracks.

Wrong...I can say it and I'll stand behind it. Do you yourself a favor and brush up on statistics...specifically the definition of an outlier.
You can't pull one data point out of a collection and say that it means anything...the marketplace is viewed in it's entirety with one random data point being more or less meaningless.
It was a cute effort though...nice try! ;)
