I just picked up a pre-loaded trailer filled with drums of motor oil, anti-freeze, and grease. Is this hazmat or not?

I hit the like button again, lol.Anyway look on the bill.If its hazmat there will be I think an x on the paperwork I don't think it is because you would have placards with the bill.

Nope... like another said, check your BOL.

Sure, it'll burn if it gets hot enough, but, so will a load of pine lumber.

I didn't even get a real BOL: Not that it matters because I have had shippers try to slide in hazmat without proper documents before. Shippers and trucking companies cannot be trusted.

Although I did find an MSDS for motor oil, its not regulated Hazmat as far as I can tell. The antifreeze may be though. Used motor oil is definitely hazmat.

Besides, if it isn't in 5,000 pounds bulk, it non regulated for transportation. I imagine you are hauling 1 gallon or 5 gallon containers at the most.

It was well over 5,000lbs; 55gal drums and consumer packaging.
55 gallon drum is gonna be less than 500lbs. You go by the weight of each drum, not total weight of all the drums. Trailer could be packed with those drums and you are Still ok.

One of my books. Also found some shipping docs online

must be 5000 bulk to be a rq. (Reportable quantity). You can haul any amount you want as long as it is in small containers such as the drums you mentioned
