I have been driving regional for the past year. On average I bring home 800-900 week. I'm looking to make more money. I prefer to be home weekly. There are so many companies out there promising this ans that. I live in the Knoxville tn area. Anyone have experience with a company or have an opinion. Really appreciate the help.

As I told some people once.

No company can guarantee you a specific level of income. Only you can. And you can do that with hustle. Not just driving a truck.

Hustle means getting up on the mornings you want to hit the snooze button 10 more times.

It means driving past the truckstop when you want to go watch the football game.

Getting unloaded a day earlier than scheduled because you can and moving onto the next load.

It's not a out driving 75-80, but about keeping the left door closed and still taking care of yourself and business.

If your dispatcher isn't helping you hustle, scheduling your loads etc that help you get more revenue, then ask for a different one.

Otherwise, take the leap and go out on your own and step up the game.

there has to be plenty of LTL companies near you...ABF, NewPenn, A.Duie Pyle, Old Dominian, etc. some have night time line haul where you MIGHT be home daily or weekly.

they ALL have local daytime p&d runs as well, if you want to work daily, rather than nightly

If you want to be home weekly, $800-$900 take home per week is pretty much cap for general freight. You're not going to do much better unless you get into LTL or heavy haul.

Companies will try to sell you the world on a silver platter to get you to drive for them, but remember the grass is greener on the other side because of the bull crap used for fertilizer.
