Day one of our trip from Joplin Missouri to Phoenix Arizona. Picked up load the previous night and went home so our trip starts out today in Northwest Arkansas and we stop for the night just west of Santa Rosa New Mexico.

Ain't there a "T/A" out there & Loves Across the Street

no Loves across from this one. Loves is about 18 miles or so west of here.

Theres some town New Mexico off 40..

Was getting "serviced" a T/A Shop but we're Remodeling like the Store and No Showers..

Across the Road was Loves and I hadda shower credit on card so packed my duffel bag walked across the road to loves while T/A worked on my truck..

That T/A also hadda "Popeyes" and at dinner there before I got rolling again..

Wait a minute that's when I'd catch the HWY 54 down the 2 lanes for Las Cruces..

I ain't got my motor carriers atlas handy at moment or I'd look it up

That the one with Taco Bell used to "love" those $5 or T/A Price like $7 bucks "Big Box Special"..

I dunno a Fast Food Joint "inside" a T/A was always More $$$ deal they had or "Captive Audience" I guess .

Yet Loves , Pee-Lot, or even Independent with Fast Food Chain prices were roughly same as "Home down the street price"..

But T/A somehow cost More I'm guessing the Deal Fast Food Place makes with T/A

Yep, Taco Bell, and I think Subway. It is usually a must stop for me due to the fuel price, but the last time through the T/A in Amarillo and Russells in New Mexico had them beat.

Seems after COVID lockdowns most of em "Disappeared " Permanently..

Even the "Remaining" really cut back on the "Hours" or Sorry Closed due 2 Staffing Issues

Yet most "Petros" owned by "Same Company" still have Open "Sit-down" Restaurants

Some have reopened, some seem to be closed forever.

In some areas, the "Black Bear Diner" has become the restaurant. Amarillo T/A is one of those locations.
