FMCSA exempts oversized-load carrier group from 30-minute breaks

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration granted the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association an exemption from the agency’s mandatory 30-minute rest break.

FMCSA’s notice of the exemption renewal is scheduled to publish in the Federal Register on Wednesday, June 24.

The exemption from FMCSA’s hours-of-service provision covers drivers for all specialized carriers transporting oversized loads that require a permit issued by a government authority. The five-year exemption will end on June 17, 2025.

I don’t keep a copy of the exemption, but can find it quick on the web if they ask. No one has ever asked though

Try pulling one in January or February when you barely got 8 hours IF THAT.....that you can drive in the first place. Pull your head out, son. We're burnin daylight!!
