Don't know, I'd just completed my first run, got back to the yard to pick up a second load, when the text I posted came through, we texted back and forth, this was my response to his firing me text,
Wednesday at 19:37, "Jeff, respectfully, I disagree, the level of activity with Twin Oak Tree Care suits me just fine. I don't think I need training and with my level of pre-existing injuries, driving, untarping, opening and closing the doors of the trailer suits me perfectly.
If you're unhappy with my work, tell me. I'm quite happy at Twin Oak and would really like to stay on, please".
He replied at 19:39, "I think it's just better that we move on at this point again thank you for your hard work"
I texted back at 10:39 "Have I done something wrong? at 19:50, Your mind's made up, I'm fired? He ghosts me on these two texts and finally, at 20:12, Will I at least get a good reference when I apply with other companies?" He replies, at 20:41 "Yes, we will do that"
Mind you, I had zero experience in a tractor trailer, but he took me on anyway, I was all set to do the next 10 to 12 years with him, when his text came out of left field.
What I think happened is he hired me to drive his tractor and walking floor, when there was no other driving to do, I went home. Leaving the yard man to do his work without help from me.
Ah well, I got two and a half months of fifth wheel experience, more to come I hope.
