Face it, you're getting old.

I'm not talking to you young whipper snappers that still bounce when you fall. I'm talking about having to be extra careful climbing in and out of the truck because you don't bounce anymore.

What is it that really smacks you in the face with how freaking old and feeble you're getting?

Aches and pains? Stiff joints?

Less patience for stupid stuff overall?

A general disdain for modern pop culture?

Increased need for rest and sleep rather than just working yourself to exhaustion, grabbing a nap and doing it again?

Did you cough and accidentally rip a huge fart you didn't even know was on deck?

Less warning time to get to the toilet before a serious environmental biohazard occurs?

Last night a rest area was full so I parked on the shoulder of the ramp at a slight angle.

As I was sitting on the bunk this morning putting myself together I coughed while reaching for something and pulled a muscle in the left side of my back. It hurt like hell. All day.

I think I moved my arm all of 9 inches too.

Awesome.

Having to wear ice cleats at job sites cuz I no longer possess my cat-like reflexes when I'm flailing on the ice.

If I drive more then 2 hours, I have to stretch my back out before I walk.

Have to think twice about having another beer past 7pm or I'll be up all night peeing.

Can only have 5 ghost pepper cheese curds now in one sitting.

Have to always do a extra walk around the trailer to make sure I haven't forgot anything..

Ya pulled a good one couple of nights ago.
Moved a new Komatsu hot saw. Of course they wouldn't wait for me to get there so the gate was locked on the dead end road. Got it unloaded locked the cab and was putting the keys by the master shut-off,but the green light was still lit so I couldn't shut it off yet.
So I set the keys on the track and went to put the trailer back together.

Backed out of there and got 20 miles down the road before I realized what I done. Dumb ass.....lol

Well, the optimism of youth is completely gone, Gone!

I often wondered as a young buck, why older fella's had lost their optimism and seemed to completely give up.

Because, if this is all there is, I give up too. I am relatively happy but, Lifestyles of the rich and famous is probably completely out of reach.
