Emergency Automatic Braking Standards Proposal

That technology may work to stop idiots.
Maybe a rider should be attached allowing algorithms to un-elect politicians.
Sorry elected official Bob, Ya' done fucked up too many times. You're out and Jim is in.

No surprise here. It’s already standard equipment on a new truck, now we just lose the ability to order a truck without it if this goes through.

And it will most likely go through because every large carrier out there will offer to provide data that it has reduced crashes.

My favorite is when it sees the bridges on the way out to the Dakotas and back.

Even with the software update this one jabs the brakes.

Its like *Ben Shapiro talking quickly* vvvvvvrrrrrrvvvvvvrrrrrvvvvrrrrrBLAM!!!BEEEEEP

Then I have to reset the cruise.

I really get to practice my profanity skills.

Because I don't use a lot of profanity and I'm not very good at it.

One of my primary "ahhh" moments was getting trucks without it.

At USX we had radar but all it did was tell us the speed of the person ahead. That was fine.

At Schneider my first truck as a newb was the oldest in the fleet. It had nothing on it and the cruise wasn't even governed. That was nice.

Then I moved into these newfangled irritations and became stressed like crazy.

Neither of my trucks has anything now and it's back to being unstressed. Just normal passing and cruise that holds.

I couldn't go back. I'd have a nervous breakdown.

I hate the camera that reads the friggin speed limit signs then gives you the hard slow down of "excessive over speed". That Goddamn thing picks up ramp speed limit signs & state route signs.. it's annoying as hell and dangerous, especially in the winter. Whenever I run up route 40 to the Walmart DC in Sterling, it gives me the hard slow down every damn time I pass a route 40 sign, which is about 6 times in that 25 mile stretch. Let the engineers go for a ride in these things & see how they friggin like dealing with that crap.

This is correct.

In my first trip to Sioux Falls and back this week I found myself tensing up at every single overpass. I don't have which ones memorized as to when it jabs the brakes.

The 2021s are even worse.
