Driver sues medical marijuana company and wins

I know a guy who is an ER nurse at a big hospital. Says he's never been drug tested. But I don't think he smokes weed every day. Just on his days off I guess.

I'm sure insurance would require a whiz quiz even if you only operate on private property..

Yeah you pretty much have to leave the trucking industry entirely if you wanta smoke weed.
Actually its "Federal Law" anything CDL or Transit Worker like when I drove bus for about a year any job offer must have a "PRE-Employement" Pee Test and subject for "Randoms" at anytime up the outfit up in Minnesota I picked up a load in Salt Lake City my Safety Manager called me I hadda go across town Concentra clinic pee in a cup but I was clean at that time no worries.

Today allotta places now do "Hair Testing" too cut a lock your hair off and Hair Tests go back like 6 months

Traffic laws only apply to public property.
You don't even need a CDL to operate a yard jockey truck at a warehouse, unless the job requires operating on public streets.

When I was yard jockey for awhile back hadda do whole physical med card and pee test..

They also road tested ya because they had Cold Srorage afew miles up the highway

They paid me $24 an hour time-clock but man that was boring @$$ job doing the same thing over and over again .

I took up at the Grocery Store weekdays and got on driving bus weekends for a year something..

Nowadays I work in electrionics recycling as a "Testor" plug eveything in make sure it all works scan it into inventory computer..

Temp Service only pays ya $15 an hour but it aint break your back kinda work ya set your pace load the stations work row to row like plowing a farmfield

Easy Peasy

We don't really have laws here that dictate drug testing. A company may want it or if you are doing cross border trucking into the U.S the U.S. requires it.
I stay clean because you just never know when you may need to pivot in this industry.
With the English language requirement in the U.S. Many Brampton based drivers may become inadmissible to the U.S. and that would drive up the rates for drivers doing cross border. I have no desire to do that but if the price is right, who knows? :dunno:

Aviation too. You need a piss test to pick up garbage and patrol the ramp at any airport.

I was thinking about something part time to get out of the house. That was one of the reasons I retired, rules of stupidity. What I do at home is my business as long as it doesn't affect my job performance.
You may want to look into car jockeying. A friend of mine just retired and is doing that. Back in the 90's I worked at a car rental place and when the cars were at a certain mileage, they send them to auction. The retirees working part time show up in a van and jockey cars from the lot to the auction lot.
One time they were short one man and I was sent with the retirees to jockey a car to auction. I was driven back in a van full of retirees that like to stop for coffee a lot. I was 40 years younger than these guys, but we had a blast. laughing and joking.
Being in Florida I would imagine there would be a lot of car rental places. I think you would have to apply to the auction place or just ask what service they use.
Another option is driving for the film industry, Drive the truck there and park it and go home or stick around doing Joe jobs. IATSE is the Union in North America. The local depends on where you're at.

So Canada does not really have regulation on drug tests.

Then again you guys "legalized" pot a decade before Individual States in the USA figured out they could make mad "Tax Revenue" off Marijuana $ales..

Roughly "Half" the 50 States got "Legalized" Recreational Pot $ales..

The remaining states roughly half them have "Medical Marijuana" ONLY so to go to a dispensary in them States ya need a Doctors Perscription Note before they can $ell ya pot

State of Illinois the full real deal "Marijuana" been "Legal" 5/6 years now and shops opened allover the place.

State Of Wisconsin Marijuana still "Illegal" and Wisconsin doesnt even offer "Medical Marijuana" Program neither so in Wisconsin if a Cop busts ya with Weed ya gonna get your "Booking Room" photos too at the County Jail

A total waste of taxpayer dollars bothering people with weed. Other stuff, yeah, no need for it to be on the street.
Illinois learned how to TAX Weed the tune of 2/3 Billion dollars per year..

Wisconsin the Governor a Democrat Tony Evers supports "Legal Weed" but both State Houses have "GOP" Republican Majorities they could not even agree on "Medical Marijuana" Proposal it was so "Convuluted".

While Governor Tony Evers would sign a Marijuana Bill on his desk the Wisconsin Legislature cannot even pass consensus a hearing in Madison

They just released the amount of tax revenue weed sales have generated and its in the billions. I forget how much.

I used to deliver to the grow-ops. I would bring the big trays that they would use for seedlings.
The places were all plain buildings, no signs out front or on the building. Heavy security cameras everywhere. If you weren't delivering there you would never know what that building was.
It's all indoor hydroponics. I never saw any of it because we unloaded outside.
The only way I knew was because the name on the BOL was the same name as the company that got the government contract.

If Im trucking I just dont do it because a failed pee test kiss your CDL goodbye basically..

Sure ya can do treatment get "re-certified" cleared for duty again but that Dirty Pee test still remains on your file and no company is gonna wanna touch you except maybe a "Mega-Carrier" if ya lucky.

At home not trucking yeah I smoke weed help me stay off the "Booze" which I have a "Real Problem" with.

I cant even drink anymore because Ive reached the chronic stage of "Alcholism" ..

Smoking weed I dont go off the "Deep End" like I do when Im drinking.

Drinking I just cannot do it anymore not even a beer or Ill be drinking a whole bottle vodka everyday again before I even know it..

Took my last drink in July been sober since..

But I still smoke pot
I broke on my "Drinking" over the long holidays...

So far my consumption is 1.75 bottles of whiskey...

Atleast today I work inside a wharehouse not cranking back Tall Natty Ice "5.9%" high octane in my sleeper at a truckstop and posting pics of it..

Eh its "Cheap" $4/5 a 4 Pack at truckstops & its 5.9% alchol content

Or $9.99 a 15 pack for a cheap beer that will really get ya "There" on a Ten Dollar binge

Funny! I may consume a case of beer a year and that's only when I eat Mexican food. Beer just goes right with it. Tequila is okay, but that stuff will make an animal out of you.

I dont even like beer anymore cant stand the stuff...

Booze is my "Demon" the Liquor and thats about all I drink anymore.

That video shows exactly why the legal gray area is such a mess for drivers right now. It's easy to get caught off guard, especially with specific prescriptions like sativex where the roadside rules aren't always clear. I found some solid breakdowns on Releaf about the legal side of these meds to avoid exactly this kind of trouble.
